The crank is a Buick Motorsports steel forged crank (3.55 stroke). The rod journals & mains have been machined 60/10. Its for a narrow journal rod (chevy rod). It was just checked at the machine shop and its all good and ready to go. Crank Specs are 2.190" throw & .900" wide For a 109 block 3.830 bore and 3.55 give 245 cu. in. The rod length is 6.135 and it uses the standard Big Block Chevy pin of .990( fitted with ARP rod bolts). I had this in my 4.1. I had a issue with my cam sensor and I replaced it, but the washer fell in the front cover. It looks like it sandblasted the (brand new)Ross pistons. They will clean up fine with a sand roll, no issues with strength or anything like that because its at the bottom of the piston which effects nothing (just looks ulgy). But none the less thats the story. Thats crank, rods, forged Ross pistons & new rings. Asking $800 for everything plus shipping. Price is firm

Yes the pistons are for a 4.1. The bore size is written inside the piston in the 2nd last pic (4.00).

losing a washer on the cam sensor in the front cover and figuring it wouldn't harm anything. yet right:redface: Like I said it looks ugly but doesn't effect anything.

Tell me more about the crank. If someone wanted to run a stock Buick rod could they? What would it take? I guess at .060" on the rods it isn't exactly buy a set of bearings is it. With this set-up did you have to grind on the block at all? What about the cam? Does it clear? Is the crank internal or external balance? That sure is a bunch of questions isn't it. :p Thanks

I would not reccomend using a stock rod with this application. The BBC rods have all the machine work already done to them for clearancing the block and they are stronger and use a wider bearing. If it is for a 109 block, I would just buy the piston that fits your application for the BBC rod. That would cost $400 for new pistons and you would have a stroker kit for $1200. No machine work was done to my block (4.1)when this rotating assembly was in it. From pics that I see, there is only one little notch thats put into the block to clear the rod bolt. It was internal balanced.

What machine work was necessary to make the BBC rods work on a Buick crank? Do you just use the BBC rod bearings once the rod journals are cut down? Do the pistons still have the .990 pin dia or did you have the rod small end bushed? Very interesting set-up.

The rods were machined in the sides to fit the Buick crank, it still uses a BBC bearing also cut to fit, and yes it still has a .990 pin dia.

I believe the stock set is .927. So you would just have to give the rod specs to who ever you choose to buy a forged piston from.
