87 GN . ALL STOCK MOTOR , TURBO ETC. JUST BAUGHT IT AND WILL NOT REV. HAS KEN BELL CHIP. RED STRIPE INJ. IDLES FINE, OK 1/8TH THROTTLE, THEN JUST POORS OUT BLACK SMOKE. ONLY CODE IS RICH COND.
WILL NOT GO OVER 35 MPH. TRIED NEW STOCK CHIP/ COMPUTER TO NO AVAIL

NEED CUSTOM CHIP? HEATED O2?

WHAT SIZE IS THE RED STRIPE / GREEN STRIPE

ANY HELP NEEDED WANT TO DRIVE BRIAN

have a scan tool? get o2 readings and blm's. i think your
injectors are 30lbs injectors which should work with stock
chip or performance chip calibrated to 30lbs injectors.
definately sounds overfueled. check fuel pressure.could
be a locked o2 sensor. need data though.

I think red stripes are 40lbers.

Also, if the car idles ok, start it up and tap on the maf. If its bad, the motor will start to sputter as you're tapping.

Scanned it today. still no codes. have snapon mt 2500 scanner. Its showing , switching between rich/lean even when its obvius (sp) it is running rich . o2 in the 600 rang. It just wont spool up. fuel pressure is 35-45. /idle and driving. tried the , tap on MAF to no avail. I'm going to order the heated o2 kit and try it out , then chip, then MAF, then injectors. try to save the big money for last.

Brian, if your injectors are 40s, then you need a chip to match. If you're in a pinch, and don't have a chip, put the stock injectors back in. Its alot cheaper than putting in all those parts you listed.

red stripes are 40lb inj . i have the same ones with a kb pro chip set up for the red stripe inj ( they are hard to control) that i run on the street . kb will re program your chip for you. also get rid of the cat the car will be nite and day. my car just passed emmissions 2 days ago with flyin colors . and the car is got alot of goodies champion heads & ported manifold kb 70mm tb & dog house 3000 stall exc. stay away from heated o2 i like ac. good luck

If they are Red Stripes (40's), I would go with a Lubrant Chip. It was the best chip I ever had for the 40's. I had the same KB chip and it plain sucked. You could also go the ME route.

I'll bet a buck that it's that KB chip though. Mine would practically have raw fuel coming out of the pipes. HTH's.

have you checked your boost hoses? when my up pipe to throttle body hose blew off i couldnt get ANY boost and it wouldnt go over 35 mph. and forget about WOT mine would only do about 1/8th throttle also b/c when it tried to build boost it couldnt. it was probably running way rich too b/c of the lack of boost.
