Salvage Theft title question

I've been thinking about buying an 87 GN that has a salvage theft title. It was stolen and later returned to the original owner back in the late 80's. No damage to the car, but that black mark is on the title. Can anyone give me some advice or information on this, in any way?

Its not good for resale. Check with your insurance company before you do anything. The value of a car with a salvage title may vary . Good luck.

Typically cuts value in half and as stated, check with your ins. co. to make sure it can still be properly covered. Might be a great deal if the only thing wrong with it is on paper, but realize it'll always be that way.

Depending on your state, you might not even be able to get it registered.
