seat belt light stays on

I am having a problem with the seat belt light staying on all of the time in my '86 GN. I do use the seat belt while driving. I have the wiring diagram for the car and some troubleshooting tips but wanted to see if anyone might know right where to go first. My car has never had the "chime" that is supposed to come on when the key is in the ignition, could that have something to do with it and where would it be located?

Probably a bad chime module... extremely common with our cars.... causes the seatbelt light to come on intermittently or stay on and the chime not to work... it's an electronic box under the DS dash... about the size of a pack of cigarettes, as I remember... do a search for chime module and you should find some pictures and a more accurate location...
