If I Put A .125 Washer Between My 9 In Cpt Tc And Flywheel ..which Is Recomeded By Many Trans Builders,it Only Leaves Me About.25 Thou Space When I Push Back Torque Back Into Trans Pump,,,i Am Afraid If I Ballon Tc I Will Do Damage To Trust Bearing Or Trans Pump Or Both Opinions Please

not a trans expert . but if you have 1/8"-3/16" TC stab/play why use a washer ?

dusty .125 plus .25 equel .150 ...this is my problem ,i find this this figure to tight for total clearence between tc and flywheel

I'm confused is it .025 or .250 ??? beacause .125 + .25 does not equal .150" . :)

my mistake .025

so......without the shim washer your at .150" , correct ? without the shim washer IMO your good to go . I've found the best way to check it is by using a drill bit rather than feeler guages .

What Do You Mean Good To Go ....bolt Flexplate Direct To Torque Converter

yep... bolt TC directly to flexplate ! if you have 1/8"-3/16" stab or clearance between the flexplate and the converter pushed all the way back to the trans . take a 1/8" drill bit and a 3/16" bit and see what you have . no less than 1/8" no more than 3/16" . from what you posted you have aprox .150" (without shim) that's almost in the middle of 1/8"-3/16", which is good . check out links . .

From TCI website :

What type of clearance should I have between the torque converter and flexplate before pulling the converter forward and bolting it to flexplate?

Answer: You should have 1/8" (.125") to 3/16" (.1875") between the torque converter and flexplate before pulling the converter forward and bolting it to flexplate.

Exactly what he said. If you have .150 between the converter and flexplate with the converter pushed all the way in the trans, you are good to go. Bolt the converter straight to the flexplate.

what about if i only had .100 between tc and flexplate??? is it enough or can i damage something

For a driver or occasional racer .100 should be fine. If you plan on building a lot of boost on the line at a dragstrip I'd want more than .100.
