i was driving along, minding my own buisiness. with my music nearly popping my ear drums, when poof.. there's some smoke, and no more sound. so i pull it out, fuse is blown. and now it wont work. turns out a speaker wire came loose and touched metal. so if its shorted out, how can i fix it? or can i.......?

If you replaced the blown fuse and it still doesn't work, then it sounds like you torched the decks internal amplifier. I am sure it can be fixed but by the time you add parts and labor, you can replace it with a new one for just as much. HTH
