I have done my best et by not shifting into overdrive, which is 11.74 at 113 mph with a 60ft of 1.52 launching at 9lbs of boost at 2900+ rpm (finishing the 1/4 at 5300 rpm in third gear). After that run I started shifting in overdrive near the end of the 1/4 and gained 1 mph in all my runs. This year I would like to start locking my torque convertor after my 2nd to third shift. I was just wondering if I should still shift into overdrive if I lock the torque. Any info will really help,

Thank You

Marco

as long as the transmission is shifted to fourth itll go in fourth ,however your ecm strategy must keep the converter locked or you need a toggle switch

I never shift 4th even over 129mph. Leave it in 3rd and lock it up. You want more mph, put a bigger tire on it.

I have 2800 stall red stripe lock up torque convertor, if I start locking this torque with a toggle switch are they known to brake or get damaged very easily. When you lock the torque convertor, is it harder on the torque or the tranny or both.

Thanks

30# injectors at 113-114 in the 1/4 ...what are your 02's at the traps you have to be maxing them unless your dumping masive loads of alky in it

lock it and pull it thru in 3rd would be my $.02

I agree.. leave it in 3rd gear. If you want to lock the torque converter then lock it somewhere around 75 MPH.

Redstripe is a relatively inexpensive torque converter. Each and every WOT lock is gonna hurt.

I monitor my car with the otc 4000e, and my 02 's at the traps are 87-88 with 1-3kr. My fuel pressure with the vacuum on is 43 psi and my smc alky is set to the max speed, which is 10 on the control box.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

IMHO, I'd say that if you do go into OD with it locked, it's going to fall on it's a$$.;)
