I have tried several times to get the Hot Air downpipe out in one peice. Last time I had all the accersories (AC, Alt, etc.) off the engine and the passenger side manifold/up-pipe off. Still couldn't get it out. Not sure if it's that square flange that's the problem, or the starter, or the crossover.

What's the minimum that I need to remove to get the DP out? Do I need to jack up the engine?

Thanks!

cut it in half. why keep the stocker?

if you're that worried about it I have a stocker in one pieceand it's not worth really anything so if ur interested it's yours. It came out in one piece from the previous owner, dunno how he did it tho.

well i just jacked my car up and cut it right at the square flange where it was welded to my cat and came right out from on top

I don't want to cut it up. I want to get it out in one peice.

well just try jackin it up and takin off the bolts from the elbow remove elbow too and ur gonna have to cut it off from the cat and it should come right off

Cut it?????Your crazy!!!!!It will come out with just the A/C unit removed and the Pass. side EX. manifold and crossover,up-pipe off.PLENTY of room then!Keep tryin,I wouldn't cut it though.

Why cut it?? Won't it take the same effort to get a one piece downpipe back in as it did to take a one piece downpipe out:confused: WOW, I considered myself lazy, but:D

As they said above....Remove the Up pipe, A/C Comp, and Passenger side exhaust manifold..after that and some moving around you can get it out in one piece. I was able to remove mine in one piece...took a good amount of time, but once you move it just right you can get it out!

seriously, why are you taking it off if not to throw it in the dumpster because it is a restrictive piece of crap?

would you save the stock exhaust too? it also sucks

p.s. you can get it out it just takes some f'ing around

when i took out my down pipe i took the heater A/C box out and the pipe was able to be taken out freely.

Some day those restrictive pieces of crap could easily complete a concourse restoration of a piece of crap.

We have pretty rare cars, and I'm surprised at how many people are willing to just hack away. Tread lightly on these things... Someday you just may thank yourself.

i have every stock part of my car in the attic and have never needed to cut any thing so at will my car could completely go back to stock.

makes sense. showcar? dont care about that, my car looks respectably clean but i dont have the time nor the effort to keep it spotless

value? also, dont care because i'm never selling the car..

every stock part on my car was removed because it was broken, up pipe and downpipe were rotting away... no reason to keep them.
