I ran a CPT 66 BB on the street with a stock converter, a little slow to spool but it was a blast, I just turned up the ALKY:biggrin:
When I got the 3400-3600 stall installed I could not keep the tires from spinning from a roll, let alone from stand-still. It has plenty of power for a car that will not see the track.

I have a PTE 6262 DBB billet wheeled turbo with S cover coming. It'll be here monday. I have to get my motor installed back in the car and then will post up some photos and results. This little thing should be a monster!

Yeah if I was to get the CPT-66 I would have to get at least a 3400 converter.I just don't like to much lag on a street car because it then really feels like a V-6.Also when you own a Chevy with a Big Block in it it makes it feel worse.Anyway Im selling my Chevy.I don't understand your 3400-3600.Same converter 2 different stall speeds?? Also I would probably go with a NLU but I have to research about the NLU because I know nothing about them.I know they can't be good on gas and for those who don't care about MPG are probably not driving there Turbo Regal's 100% of the time on the street.I just got back from a local store and my power master unit I thought 6 weeks ago was going bad.Today it was the worst.I don't know if the heat had anything to do with it.It looks like I got to tackle that problem first.

I need 1 car to be scary fast on the street too because I am selling my 1969 Camaro Big Block car with nitrous.Man when I got the nitrous working right which was rare because the car is and was so hard to tune it was scary with them 150 horsepower jets.Without the Nitrous Im sure the Buick would be much faster 3/4 down the track. Its no fun anymore for me because Im afraid to take it out of the garage. You can't beat a Turbo Regal when there mostly faster overall and much easier to drive and gas mileage is about 4 times better.I did notice today things do start to go on these cars the older they get.My Powermaster unit seems to be hanging on by a thread. CPT-66 is looking like the one unless another better turbo turns up.One thing I wonder about will MT ET'S be enough tire on the street.I also wonder how much I could get for my Te-44 which doesn't even have 3,000 miles on it.

3200 stall is perfect for a bb66 , my car dead hooks on the street , i can leave at 0 lbs and has zero lag , its just gone , my suspension is 275 60 15 m/t drag radials at 16 lbs , hr anti roll bar . metco lowers, stock uppers , and qa1 shocks set 6 stiff , here's a video , of me against a N/A mustang that runs 10.9 at 122 , he is using a trans break , me at olbs of boost because of ****ty back brakes ,on the foot brake , took him right out of the hole , but my ****ty 200r4 took a crap on me and flared bad , now has new built th350 , YouTube - NJR Reaper231 Vs. S/C Mustang now have new big soft shoes , new drums and new stock wheel cylinders , and can hold at 10lbs of boost no problem . will start out at 5-6 lbs should be plenty .

Do you have a front mount IC?? Also my heads were CNC ported Race heads and matching ported intake from ESP products.Thats 2 reason's I think my car would be better with a 3400 stall. Not to mention the 009 injector's that have to go.Your car spools quick and thats what I want in a street car as I am selling my other 2 V-8 cars.Do you have a NLU or L/U converter and what make??

no front mount stock location want that sleeper look , intercooler is good to low tens the converter thats in the 2004r is a vigilante , feels like a 3200 to3400 lu , it was $ 750 new light purple in color worked great, i'm selling it for $500 or best offer , nothing wrong with it . but went to th350 with new 3200 from pats

The Vigilante is the converter I was going to go with.I called Precision and for a single disc 9.5 inch 3200 converter and they said it was $734.Do you know if the VIG was a single disc or a 5 disc converter?? Many say that the Art Carr converter's are the best but alot of people I see on this board have been going with Pats converter.Any specific reason why you changed converters?? Im trying to learn before buying.

I don't consider the Art Carr a top 5 converter for us anymore, PTC has the non lockup thing for us which makes Art Carr not even an option IMO.

If you were to get a Precision and are concerned with performance, I'd get the 5 disc so you can lock it in 3rd.

And with a 3200 stall you can get any BB turbo to be good on the street with some decent mods.

I originally had the stock converter in the car. I then purchased an Art Carr 3400-3600 Non Lock Up.
What I was trying to say is that you don't need that much stall(3400-3600) with the CPT66 BB. I could not hook at all with 275/60/15 MT DR's.

I bought an Art Carr instead of a Precision because I was told that Precision clutches were propriatary, and anyone could service an Art Carr. I may have been misinformed.

I may be mistaken but aren't Art Carr's converter's all 9 inch Non Lock Ups??

big or small turbos are one thing BUT if the tune is off then its a no win .. For YEARS Melissa beat a lot of built up cars with her stock motor Limited T and her WE4 with a little ol 44 ... so get a handle on the tuning of the car before ya go balls deep in $$$$$$
Oh on the LU... that has been beat to death for years .. to me a street car works better with a LU .. I need gas milage out of this car

They make of have made lock ups too.

I wonder which 3200 L/U converter would spool quicker?? The VIG has a single disc and a 5 disc and there 9.5 inches while the Art Carr's I believe are just the 9 inches.I don't think I want to go higher then a 3200 stall for a car that will probably never see the track.

So the GT6152 is now the GT6162.Also the GT6131 is now the GT6157.One of these BB Turbo's I will be buying. The 6162 looks like the better choice.Along with a Vigilante 3200 single disc LU converter.

The 66 spools great with my 3000stall West Coast converter,L/U! Im told the smaller the cam the faster the car spools,i have a good bit larger cam than stock, so i have no traction issues as of yet, im still working out the bugs.
