Awesome. Lets see some pics when you get it back to the way it was.

Back in the 90's we were street racing in NY , my friend were racing against another car , there were under cover cop taking video of both drivers and there cars, they will not lock em up right there at the race but wait till they get home , while they were sleeping they knock on your door at 5am and areest you and take your car away . My friend didnt get his car back

Glad you were able to get it back, it sucks that you had to buy your own car back though.

Just fyi that was a county task force put together for that purpose. And it will probably continue with county and state funding.

We had paramedics and meat wagons on hand as well as volunteer firemen there and while we didn't have rails on the road no one was allowed on the sides except for the end to see who won.;) It was one of those things that the cops allowed back then because it didn't involve a lot of dope or dopes.:D There were several strips back then in the area and one had such a bad rep that it really wasn't safe without an armed escort.:( That particular track has been closed down and opened up so many times I can't believe it's still in operation but it is.o_O

Street racing? Yep bad idea. I take liberty's on the street from time to time but to go to a organized street race no way. And in a residential area that is just stupid!

And Charlie what track you talkin about? Yello Belly? Waco (Old airstrip)? Little River?

Not sure if this still works, but when I had cars that I knew I would street race, I put the car in a family members name. In VA back then, if the car was not in your name, they could not take it. Not sure if that works today.

Don't think it does in TX, don't know about anywhere else. And if you owe the bank on it, you still owe the bank on it. It would suck to have to pay for a car you don't have.

Yello Belly was the worst and Little river came in a close second David. Had some friends that got held up at gun point at both not to mention the needles ect laying around at Yello Belly. Still miss Green Valley and I was one of the few that got to be there the last day before it closed.:(

That's a good question. I think it might end up as intent here. If you're present with the intent of letting your buddy race the car then you'd loose the car but if you loaned the car without knowledge of the races then you should get it back.

It was a $ grab for the broke corrupt city and a feather in the hat for the head wayne county sherriff that wants to be mayor of said corrupt Azz city...
There was a girl there whose boyfriend snuck out and took her car out there while she was asleep and was a spectator, they took her car too, If your car had a loan on it then it went back to gm ford chrysler and 9 times out of 10 they let you get it back.....They sent out a list to everyone that lost a car to tell them how much the car was worth, how much they expected it to bring at auction and how the $$ was to be divided up..... At the forfeiture hearing the cops got caught lying, adamitted to forging signatures, and the prosecutor was 32 days late filing his paperwork per the forfeiture law (all reasons for dismissal in a regular court) All the lawyers worked as a team all trying different angles and uncovering lies ,mistakes etc.... They did 7 cars at once everyone lost their cars....
