It's not that the onlookers are bad, uncaring people. It's just something in the vast majority of people's psychological make-up.
And those of you who posted how you would have done something... guess what?... that's easy to say sitting behind a computer screen but when unexpectedly thrust into the real situation the odds are overwhelming that you would have stood there just like all those folks did. Believe it or not, it's true.
I agree with you somewhat. However, I think there is a factor here. If you actually KNEW at the time, who the criminal was and who the victim was, its easy to decide to help. If you don't know, then how can you really decide to jump in. Me, I just like to play lorenzo lamos as the renegade.
