We'll i did a burnout today and after words the car refuses to shift. I now have to bring the car up to about 5 grand and feather the throttle to get it to go into the other gears. They all work including park and reverse, it just doesnt shift till way high and if you play with it. Also, i messed with the TV cable and it had no effect except for the characteristic of the shift (soft/hard).

Where can i get a governer? Is there such thing as a high performance governer? It was in the WE4. not the stock t-type. Thanks alot!!!!!

You F4cking kids are always doing stupid Sh4t with your rare T types ......You can get the gov from anywhere that sells GM parts Its pretty easy to replace which makes me wonder why my $2500 tranny is sitting on my garage floor with a broken one  I found the 30 lbs injectors for you by the way .

If my memory serves me right, it was you that was leaving on the trans brake in front of my house the other day? hahah. I'll pull the pan off and check out that spring situation.

I'll give you a call today see if I can get thoes injectors and get that thing running good. Thanks!!

i still have to figure out whats wrond with my speedo. did a hard launch at the track and it stoped working. i think i snaped the cable as it shifts fine.

Yes it was me leaving off the brake but i did it in a mature manner

If you havent pulled it apart yet, drive the car and get it to upshift.

Most likely second gear band broke and that next gear you are feeling is 3rd gear, drive it in 3rd a few thousand rpms after it does the 1-3 shift.

Once fully shifted into 3rd gear, pull the gear selector back into 2nd, if the trans feels like neutral, the second gear band broke.

Same thing happened to this car i bought a few weeks ago.

By the way, all 1987 turbo Regal transmissions were calibrated exactly the same regardless of what options the Regal eventually had. The governors have been discontinued by GM for quite a while but you likely only need a spring which can be had at TCI - Performance Transmissions and Torque Converters.

I shifted it manually through 1st 2nd and 3rd and all went ok. First to second felt a little soft but its been getting gradually weaker.

Time to put the gauge on it. Report back with pressures.

Just make sure it has 2nd gear and it should be a easy fix, either tv boost valve or gov spring.

If you finally get tired of the dextron shower, just pull it out and get it freshened and inspected by someone who knows what they are doing.

Hope it all works out aok
