Just got back from work and saw Speedway at 3.30 a gal. This is getting crazy! The funny thing is Amaco is only 2.88 a gal.?? Time to look for a nice scooter

I'm about 40 miles from the Iowa border right on I80 and it's $3.09 across the street at the Pilot truckstop.
How I wish it was still monday and $2.67.

Diesel was 2.34 monday, 2.49 tuesday, and today is 2.79
Gas was 2.45??? now 3.10 today.

Cant wait till next month when its 4.00 per gallon.

Every year the price gets higher right at Labor Day, hopefully some of this hike in price is due to the holiday, but i dont price of gas will ever get back to 2.10 per gallon like it was this spring....

Can i just run to the airport and purchase about 55 gallons of low lead for 2.71 per gallon?

Do you have to prove that you actually own a real airplane?

I remember it once hit 89 cents here a couple years ago, when prices were dropping like crazy.

Hey do you have gas city's by you? It was $2.99 at Mobile, 1 block down the street Gas City is $3.31  Screw Gas City!

hey be thankful some, places around atlanta are 6.07 (93 oct) in atlanta, and 3-5 (93 oct) dollar range in Alpharetta.

Its 3.15 in Anniston AL for (93) 3.01 for reg.

I think the Gov't is going to have to take control over this situation with both hands to get this thing under control. I know the Gov't doesnt "own" these refineries but they are our only hope in resolving this situation. I think its their responsibility b/c they are the ones with "our" money. I think they should cut this wasteful spending that they have been doing for years and get down to business.

I just filled up tonite with Shell Super for $2.84 which was the cheapest out of all of the majors. Exxon and BP were $2.99 and the lines were loooong!

It seems that the small independents were the ones that were really gouging the motorists as they were priced at $3.31/3.47.....and had NO customers. :frown:

My question is if they have gas in the underground tanks and haven't filled them up then why should gass go up EVERY day other than they are just gouging. Seems like if someone on tv says gas is going to be XXX in 2 days then it's an excuse to raise it to that now. Stupid asses should say it will be less. Where is the federal oil reserve? This is what it's supposed to be used for.

I posted a thread about this a while ago.......I also drive a LT1 caprice and I filled tonight and it was $3.20 a gallon..... not good!!!!

I was saying time for the government to step in months ago when we were at 2.50, and many of our 'enlightened ones' were like... ' no, no, the government has no control over gas, blah blah blah. Now suddenly were into the 3's and people think its time to do something now  At least here, at the north end of Los Angeles, its still 2.92!

I hate to say it fellas, and I am not advocating violence in any way, shape, or form, but that's what it will take for something to get done about this. Again, I AM NOT ADVOCATING the use of violence, but for some reason, the government reacts to it swiftly and severely.

If you can recall an incident that happened in Los Angeles in 1992. A certain young man was beaten by police officers. They were basically cleared until the riots broke out. Then, the sierra hit the foxtrot.

Not sure if my facts are 100% (it was 13 years ago...), but I think that's the gist of what happened.

The coast that took the hit was a major gas supply hub for the U.S.. I'm sure this is part of the problems with the $$ of gas. I can only speak for what I know working for BP. All of our offshore platforms in the gulf were affected. The ones in the deep water weren't as bad as the ones in the shallow water. The report we received was that all production was down until all standing platforms could be evaluated. Some have signs of leaking with sheens of oil on the water, some platforms were severly damaged. We are all looking at months of shortages.

I do think they should cut their profits for relief and they are being greedy like always. They will make their money no matter what and I think that's sad.

One question I had last night that I'm sure no one on here can answer but just makes me wonder. With the gas prices this high I'm sure no one is buying 93 octane so there should be more of this supply building yet the price stays higher. The companies say supply and demand drives the price up yet how does the price of 93 stay up when the demand is lower. Is everybody having to by 93 when the 87 and 89 run out so all gas is getting used? We have plenty of low octane around here and I don't know anyone buying 93.

Here in the Jackson area most places don't have fuel (gas, diesel, butane, propane). It has been bought up. When the 87 dries up, they buy the 89 and so on until all tanks are empty. The stations that do have fuel don't have electriticy. Diesel prices are $3.00, 87 is running $3.25. The local truck stops are full of big rigs running near empty due to emergency and power restoration equipment being given preference. I've seen several stations that had fuel tankers come in with police escort. Once those stations have fuel they are roped of for emergency personnel only. I understand the reasoning, so I'm not too upset, but I am getting worried about finding fuel. Had a buddy spend the night in a gas line last night. Saw on the news this morning they got another one of the fuel distribution centers back on line last night. That should provide some relief. I just keep grinning and bearing it  !

Yes, I read this morning one of the main pipelines somewhere on the coast was back up and running at around 40% capacity and expected to reach full output in a day or so.

Well I get to work this morning and find out BP just pledged 5 million$$ to the relief effort. So in a way every time you fill up for the next few months you are pledging to the effort yourself.

local gas station
87-3.29
89-3.39
93-3.59

110 cam2-3.59
what would you run? I'm willing to bet people will start to run this in there cars, then there will be a shortage of 02 sensors. :D

Well there is some good news in all this....you can double your cars value by filling it up!
