I'm putting together trans parts right now for the TH400 in my stage 2 car. I'm leaning towards the griner spragless setup because it's cheaper than the super sprag and in my mind it's stronger. I don't know how many here are running that setup, but Maybe a few are out there.

I understand the theory of how it works, but what are the quirks. I gather from reading that there are some timing adjustments to release the intermediate clutches before the directs lock. How is that "tuned"?

How does it react in street driving (part throttle)? I'm only looking at short drives to cruise ins, car shows and maybe the track, not a daily driver. Does slipping the intermediate cluthches in high gear increase heat in the trans? Do you run more clutch pack clearance?

Mike, get a hold of Lonnie at Extreme Automatics. He has a lot of first hand knowledge of the Griner stuff.
