Mine are welded in place... at least the relocation brackets are... I have made a couple of trips on these, on the street & highway... and they are a tad too noisy... Scarey really.

These plus the ATR swaybar make the car a bit twitchy and are killing the handling of the car.

What are the odds I can go back to stock?

If not, who wants to trade for a rebuilt 8.5" posi with SSM lowers, and 3.73 gears? ;) :D

good question, i have thought of changing back myself.... hope to read the coments...

I had them on a Mustang. They made a ton of noise and beat the bolt holes in the torque boxes oval. I had mine welded on. I ended up cutting the welds with a cut off wheel and then grinding the remaining weld on the axle housing brackets smooth. You will be sacrificing the SSM bracket when you cut it off, but they are a lot less money than buying another 8.5.
A little bit of paint and you never would have known they were ever on there. Now the torque boxes were another story

I also removed mine. Same deal, took a cutoff weld, cut the welds and ground them smooth with the grinder..

Put the stockers right back in place.. A couple extra holes in the lower brackets where they were also bolted but no big deal.

HTH..
