Steel shim headgasket re-torque question

I recently "loosened" a headgasket and need to retorque. I am running stacked shims with GE-1200, the old Jay C. recipe.

You other guys that have used this combination, which bolts tend to lose torque? I assume its the gasket deteriorating, and needs to be snugged down, but I am curious if its the top row that tends to get loose, or the bottom.

I am currently using torque-to-yield bolts, torqued to 87 factory specs, and the gaskets have been solid for 4+ years. I just want it to last another season of street driving.

I am planning to replace the bolts with studs, any suggestions from the collective wisdom of TB.com?
