Ditching the IC and doing this is thinking outside the box. Results may vary..

I wouldnt do it "if" the turbo was large enough to get the job done. This is a stock turbo thread.. thats why I brought it up.

Also dont forget to port the bell on the inlet or get a billet one and blend it in.

Good call- I've got a spare stock turbo from my T I was planning on smoothing out based on the Richard Clark flowbench tests for TSA, and why I put the stock airbox back on instead of the ghetto cone K&N just heating up under the radiator hose off the maf. I have a TE44.63 garret sitting here too, just though stock would be more fun to tinker with since I kept the D5 at a stock stall when I freshened the tranny.

did a 9 sec street car and it didn't work. Had a bad spike on launching (HIGH TEMP) . Played with it but didn't get it good enuff for his likings. Ya the boost was instant. Ended up with the intercooler back:biggrin: . Try it and post back.

Are there corrosion issues with the three port setup on the turbo and IC? I'm pretty sure I could reattach the PCV so it drains the oil pre-turbo again to keep it lubed up

No corrossion. Plus if you use three nozzles you wont have an IC.

You need a pcv on a street car to evac the condensation in the oil. PCV has nothing to do with alky.

HTH

Cool on the no corrosion, I was kidding, I don't want PCV as an oil sucking device to put oil into the turbo/IC lol

I've been doing the Preturbo M2 and Postturbo twin M15's this year alone, it's an eye opener on spool up for one thing. I have a post in the E85 section on what's needed to pull off the inlet pipe.

Most gain 1psi with the Preturbo around an M2 which is great for small turbos like the stocker and the TA49 I'm still rocking. We need as much compressor map extension as possible when we start pushing 25psi +. In theory, you might gain 6psi of compressor map extension by ditching the stock IC and doing Preturbo with it. You could be the first guy to possibly hold 30psi on the stock turbo.
There is a guy in the DSM world who was seeing 31psi with a 16g turbo (tiny) doing this very method (no preturbo though), people didn't believe it until he posted the in cabin vid from the track.

Julio, can you post a pic of the distribution block you'd recommend for the 3 nozzles? I don't think any of the GN crowd is doing 3 through the Alky Control kit are they?

Secret here is doing it right, small Preturbo with high pressure will net no corrosion or comp blade chipping. Too many in the past cheaped out on the pump and fittings and ate up turbos which gave Preturbo a bad name. Julio will hook you up, if needed I can take a pic of my compressor, I've been doing Preturbo for over 2k miles now and when I drive it, I'm usually in boost a lot.

Soo, has anyone installed 3 nozzles, ditched the IC, ran 91/93 octane, and saw an improvement over HAVING a intercooler? I saw where GNVYUS has his set up but he is running E85...

I would like to try it out but i dont know if i have the patience since i only get to work on my car 1 day a week (if that) :(

Dick Johnstons 87 T Type stock motor, stock turbo, stock intercooler and stock injectors ran 11.80 at 114 at Bowling Green 2 weeks ago (drag radials). Certainly not the fastest stock turbo Regal but incredible for what it is. Mods include club stainless exhaust system (original system fell off last fall), 3" downpipe and Alky Control. I've said this before and will say it again Julio's Alky system is the by far the absolute best performance enhancer available for the turbo Regal. If your running around without it you just don't know what you are missing. It's just great running 91-93 octane with 23#'s boost and kicking butt on the street. Gary Caramanis

nuff said  why go to the bother of all the pre turbo stuff ?? Improvements ?? I don't know because I never tried it. Did the no intercooler and it didn't work very good on a 9 sec street car. Anyone actually have before and after times with a Buick pre turbo:confused:

Thats a sweet mph. Do you have any info on the tune (boost, timing) and the trans (which converter, locked or unlocked)? One of the fastest times I've seen in a while on a stocker.
