i am thinking of getting a comp cam roller cam kit and i was wondering what you guys think of a 212/212 setup....

i live in nv so i would have to do the sniffer test when its time to smog so do you think this cam would be pretty mild but with good performance gains?

stock ported heads, pt54 soon to be a billet dbb 6567, 3 in thdp, all the supporting mods, built tranny from brian h, ptc 9.5 nl convert 2800 stall

I don't know how it would act in a smog test situation because I am not required to do that in my local. As for it being a good streetable cam that you can grow into, and still make very good power its a nice choice. My 212/212 roller showed gains on the dyno all the way up to 6000 rpm.

cool thanks for the input

I have a stock CAM and I was wondering the same thing. I have champion ported iron heads, ported intake, sounds like 212/212 would work well for my setup too? Given that I have the champion heads, which work with a stock CAM, would the valve train need to be modified to support a 212/212 or would I be good to go?

You will need different springs. If it is a hyd. roller add in lifters, pushrods,etc... Just buy a kit from one of the vendors or find a TR specialist in your area.

Thanks. Should have had my CAM changed at the same time as heads.
