Because we do it to when we are setting up our cars for the track with race fuel and 30 psi on the streets late at night too. Just because we never had a serious problem yet doesn't mean we are any better then him, it just means his number was called this time. We are all human and make mistakes. At least it wasn't in the city like most cases with tons of cars and people around.

It's already been said, but I'll say it again since I was one of the people who laughed. No.. I don't find any humor in someone being hurt. Broke on a 3-4 shift and jammed into second?? From a broken shifter. I'm just shaking my head. What's even worse is from what I can tell of the video, they are not wearing seatbelts at the time of the 'incident'. No, that's not the end all be all, and maybe they were wearing them and just took them off immediately after the 'incident' but it just goes to show how stupid some people can be.

IMO, you really should come off your high horse. Many people here (including those who wrote in this thread) are very sensitive to a persons loss. Check out how people felt about this thread. Guys, you are getting a little out of hand for just a few opinions on someones lack of intelligence in racing. Let it go please. The real problem was the kid in the video displayed his ignorance for all to see. Let's not display ours with a showing of testosterone. This kid did something very stupid. Had he been injured or died, it would have been tragic, but for some reason, he was spared. Maybe so he can tell his buddies how not to be so ignorant when it comes to racing. I don't know, but I have a sense of what happened. Thing is, it is not worth people here to get up into someone and call names or act in this manner. Let's all relax, chuckle at what did happen and ponder what might have been and take it seriously. I can tell you from personal experience, within 10 years (if he lives this long) this kid will be telling this story and cracking up doing it, laughing at how dumb HE was.
