my t-66 is in need of a rebuild, and I was looking for a worst case scenario cost. I has about an 1/8th " in and out, but not really any up or down. The wheels have not hit the housings, and it did spew oil when I primed the last engine in my car.
I was told it was $300 for dis assembly/re assembly, plus parts. So, if the wheels are in need of replacement, how much does that usually run? i'm sure some of you have had your turbonetics t-66 rebuilt before:D non ball bearing.

thanks!

My quote on a TE-45 63mm rebuild was $750 from Chopper at limit. That was with new wheels and labor to make it a 66mm.(TE45A) Would have been like brand new.

rebuild price is somewhere around a new turbo . Wnen turbo is returned to you its new.

Shouldnt be over $450. I sent Precision a PT54 a year ago and it was around $400. All it needed was the bearing housing and its related parts the wheels were fine. If it needs wheels its not worth anything imo. Especially if the turbine is shot.

I dont think it needs new wheels. And I agree, I would'nt think it would be almost the price of new:eek: if thats the case, I would just buy a ball bearing turbo:eek: i'm hoping its no more than $500. I called chopper, he will take it apart and inspect, clean and reassemble for 300, plus parts. But said hes un able to get the wheels if it needs them, so its a risk! I'm going to go with this dude in simi valley who was with innovative. I think its called xlturbo. thanks guys!

Sent Precision a TE61 about a yr or so ago. Cost was about 450...Included a complete rebuild...Shipping and all.....

WAS curious on how much shaft play was in my turbo. I put my dial indicator on it, came out to .020", I thought it was worst. Hope that means I wont need new wheels:cool:
nothing hit either side of the housings, just a little play, and a busted seal.
