i dont know about everyone else but i drive my car daily. so when it rains im suckin. The tops dont leak themselves its the trim on the side right above the driver window. In front of it where the bend/crease is, is like a waterfall. when i hit the brakes with the widow down (after it stops raining) more than like 2 in, the water pours onto my knee. i tried to seal it with Black rtv last week and it did not work. Should i try just takin the trim off. or what? HELP!!

Also the trim pieces around the glass, they are all crappy where can i find them. I was thinkin of using the door guard trim you can get a Wal Mart if the have black.

You could spend the big bucks and buy new seals. If that's what you want, that's fine.

I never went for the new seals. I went to home depot and found elasomeric pipe insulation. It looks just like the black rubber seals on cars. I used the pipe insulation for 1" pipe, laid it along the channels, and clamped my tops down. After a couple days it adheres to the channel and forms to the shape it's compressed to by the top. May help your leak problem and only costs about $2 per 4' piece of insulation.

The plastic pieces around the glass TTops on 84's such as yours, was eliminated in the later models. There is nothing on the edge of the glass. I'm pretty sure you can just remove it, if you choose to, and won't cause a problem.
