WHAT DO YOU FELLAS THINK OF A TA49,TURBO TWEAK,WITH BLUE TOPS 36# ...NOW I KNOW THERE ARE ALOT BETTER COMBOS BUT I GOT ALL THIS STUFF PRACTICALLY FOR FREE FROM A FRIEND I DID WORK ON HIS CAR...CAN I GO 12 FLAT WITH ALL THE USUAL UP GRADES (HOT WIRE ,WALBRO,ADJ FPR,DP,DUTNECK) MY 86 GN IS STILL COMPLETELY STOCK...ALL INPUT IS APRECIATED THANKS GIL:biggrin:

That's a GREAT street combo!!

12 flat? Well, anything's possible, but you'll need to push it REAL hard to get there!!!!
Super sticky tires, good track, great high boost launch. Lot's of boost (25+), lots of timing (25+), and REAL good race gas.

All that, and you might make it.

You can do it but alky will help a lot and timing will help a lot, like 25 minimum.

Make sure you get a 3" DP/Test Pipe and bigger exhaust and if you have the $$ for an aftermarket intercooler it will help that turbo breath and stay efficient.

86yr,the ta 49 is a great turbo and will go way beyond 12.0.i would recommend doing a buildup on the trans with a better converter,and running razor's alky.that duttneck will work fine especially with alky.my 49 likes eating trans.

That's a GREAT combo. you are putting together & will take you into the 11's on Alky easily.

i went 11.62 at 114 with a 49 and duttneck on a full weight car and steel rims and no cutout. aluminum wheels i should get 2 tenths. thats 25 psi and 27/24 timing and a low 9 psi boost launch

mid 11's yes but if you got alky it will cut the cycle down

You will be fine with Alky & the TT alky chip.

You should have enough injector as long as you run the alky. Without it, you will probably run out of injector or have them closed to maxed out. Run it and see what she does.:biggrin: Sounds like a good streetable combination.

11.53 @ 118.31 with a TA49 and 36# Bluetops on drag radials with a dutt neck intercooler w/100% stock long block. 11.7's with a stock neck. 23 psi of boost with a T108 chip.

If 12 flat is your goal, 36# bluetops would be my choice.

1986tr,you can get eric to cut you a race gas chip for your combo or throw some alky on there with eric's alky chip so you can have your cake all the time!as far as tuning my car with a ta49 has been as fast as 119.48mph full weight,right off of eric's chip for pump gas and alky.i've been 11.41 and plan to drop that et next season.

I'm running a TA49 with blue tops and alky, at 23PSI I'm using low-mid 90s % injector duty. My best run is 12.0 @ 108.
