TE44 wont fit, please help

I have a 85 ttype with a TM v2 intake i was told these things will except up to a 60 series turbo. I took off my stock hot air turbo to install a te44 with a precision 63 exh housing and a a/r60 comp housing. I swapped the mounting bracket from the stock turbo to the 44 then loosened the housings so i can clock them where i need them to go since i now have a front mount i/c. I went to install the turbo onto the engine and before the mounting studs bottom out into the bracket the comp housing hits the fuel rail and i need to go down another 1/4 inch to get the mounting studs where they were. I was thinking of shimming the mounting bracket that bolts to the intake up a 1/4 inch but then i think my uppipe wont seal right since the turbo will be higher than designed. Is there a certian bracket that the v2 kit came with that i dont have. will the precision 63 exh housing since it is bigger make my uppipe not fit. thanks for any help.
