I have a chance to either pickup a te63-1 or a te45 turbo and would like to know which one would be better for me. I recently had a ta60 turbo and sold it. This turbo was ablr to get me running 11:16 at 122mph in the 1/4 mile with 22lbs of boost on 110 octane. The engine is 30 over with stock ported & polished heads, 62mm throttle body, jack cotton front mount, 55lb injectors and a 206 hydraulic cam with a 3000 stall speed lockup converter. My goal is to reach that 10:50 and not race it much other than a few times a year, which turbo should I pickup and also should I change the cam or keep it. Thank you

I think you might have to change the stall speed before the cam if you re going to a 63 or 45 turbo- 3200-3500 should do it.

I'm not sure but I think they're almost the same turbo. The 63 flows about 20 more cfms. I also think the 45 has the 3" inlet, 2" outlet while the 63 has the 4" inlet, 2 1/2" outlet compressor housing. That's probably why it flows more air. I just bought a 63-1 and it looks quite a bit bigger than my TE-60 I used to run.

What is the difference between the te45 and the te45a? I was told just the te45. Thank you

a lot......45 is a 63 mm turbo, 45A is a 66 mm turbo....same as a TE-63E , PT-66 etc
