Thanks for the info. Btw rmi25 is impossible to find locally!

I ordered mine from Nick on a Tuesday and it got to Houston on a Thursday.

I got an aluminum radiator from advance for 54.31 using an online coupon code. Lifetime warranty. Fits perfect. Only problem is, I'm still running hot. Only when I have to stop and go. Fan runs on high only, rmi25 and waterwetter, 160 stat. Temps get up to 200 and what concerns me is my oil press goes from 22 lbs at 170 degrees to 12 psi at 200 and I shut the car down so I don't know how high it would have gone.

No fan comes on around 160. Just can't seem to cool it enough.

I run the same radiator from advanced and run 170-180 degrees sitting in traffic in 90+ weather... Did you run your oil cooler or trans cooler through that cooler it comes built in with? Cause I don't... I run two aftermarket external coolers.

I do use the trans cooler that's built into the radiator. I do not use an oil cooler at all. Did you just get your external coolers from the parts store? Did they come with all the needed hardware for the lines?

Stock fan. Runs on high only though. It doesn't sit exactly flush against the radiator. Maybe a half inch gap. Could that have that much effect on it?

Yep. Get a dual fan setup and it'll run cool with that rad. Alradco is the best, I run gbody with good success, others are using the single mark VIII fan that flows like 4000cfm or something. Gbody parts together is around 3000cfm. Don't know stock but it's not enough; especially if not sitting flush with the rad.

Ok I will go to the junkyard Monday and see if they have a mark vIII or intrepid. Does caspers make a plug and play wiring adapter for the intrepid fans? I don't want to cut any factory wires.

In a prior post you said you removed the stat. Now you say you have a 160 stat. If you do indeed have a 160 stat then maybe your stat is stuck closed.

I had taken it out for trouble shooting purposes when I had my stock radiator in. I put the 160 back in when I put the radiator in.

Well maybe the factory radiator was bad AND the stat was bad. So you only fixed one of the two problems. Plenty of GN's in Fla. and they all can't be having these problems. Not trying to be a smart ass but there must be a solution.

Well I guess that's possible. I know it opens up some, because when I filled the radiator I could see it pulling the coolant with the cap off, but Maybe it's not opening all the way or something. I guess it could be an air pocket or something else too. Ill just remove the t-stat again tomorrow and see what it does then.

My temps were creeping up after my radiator install. A friend of mine and I used a vacuum set up to drawl all of the air out of the system and then it fills the system back up with coolant.

It pulls so much vacuum the radiator hoses collapse.

I have one of those vacuum coolant installers , it has save my ass many times in getting the air out of systems on some stubborn cars , never has any problems burping any TB though but it would work great though . BTW you probably just need a new radiator and bite the bullet before you have other problems that would be more serious .

Can you rent those vacuum setups from the parts store?

In Fl. too, running F-Body w/ trans cooler, RMI & water with Intrepid dual 6 blade setup wired with manual switches so I can control when needed. Caspers will make a mating harness for most any package. I run reasonably safe but they are never cool enough here !!

You really don't need to pull a vacuum. Fill the radiator 3/4 full and run the engine with cap off. When the thermostat opens it will pull down the fluid. At that point you can top off the system.
