That's weird because I've seen posts from others in Florida running the same setup and they aren't having any trouble. Rick, that's exactly what I did.

Since Florida came up here is my setup for comparison. I use the gbodyparts radiator with dual fans, their radiator air box kit and a 160F stat. My chip commands the fans to come on at 175 and turn off at 170. Going down the road no matter what the temp is it runs 170 and on the hottest days sitting in traffic you can watch the temps go up and down as the fans cycle. The only time I ever get above 176F is when I run the AC and even then it is a steady 180F idling or driving. Motor is 9:1 CR with stock water pump and no wrapping on down pipes or anything to get heat out of engine compartment.

I hope you get your cooling issue nailed down.

Today I removed the t-stat and for about 5 min it stayed about 167, which is when the fans are set to come on. After that it kept climbing higher and higher as I drove around the neighborhood and when I finally pulled In the driveway it was 192. Tomorrow I will check on the intrepid fans at the local junkyard.

Sounds like the radiator is stopped up and not flowing as the theromostat is removed , fans may help but I doubt it .

If it is warming up under normal driving down the road I am not sure the fans will fix that portion of the issue. Since you already swapped in an fbody radiator and taken out the thermostat I am thinking water pump.

Radiator is new. When cap is off I can see a nice stream flowing before I topped it off. Don't think radiator is stopped up. I'm gonna try fans and if that doesn't work I'm ordering a champion all aluminum 3 row for a camaro. I'm just not spending 500 dollars on a radiator.

I'm not sure if a 3 rows system is going to be any better, since the 3 rows of copper diameter might be smaller in size, then a 2 rows copper that will be bigger in size giving more flow.

My cheep plastic Fbody radiator WAAAAAAAAYYYYY outcools my old solid brass 3 row 'heat buster' IROC radiator.

Yea that's what I did but its not keeping my car cool enough. That's why I was considering this bigger, all aluminum one.

Bigger means more thermal mass (at the same square footage of cross section for airflow).

All that does for you is slow down the rate of temp increase..... and at the same time is slows down the rate of decrease as well.
