Do any of you tranny guru's see a problem with me installing a 200R4 from a cadillac into the GN while I wait for a new tranny?

I think the tranny is from a 86' or 87' Caddy.

Thanks,

Dan

ps. I need to drive the car for a couple of days when the in-laws come into town. The original 200 is FRIED.

I don't see any problem with it but your shift points will be off. If your just going to drive it around till the other trans is done, no problem, just stay out of any heavy throttle.

Would there be an issue with shift points if I swapped govenors? Asking me to keep my foot out of it is like asking a dog not to lick its nutz:biggrin:.

I know the caddy 200 can't take the power but getting on the highway may take a little more umph.

Swapping the governor will make matters worse. The governors are matched to the valve bodies. Just put the trans in the way it is. It will most likely shift early but you could always manually shift it. You will still have to stay out of any major boost.

If its a code AA it will work well. Id install a recalibration kit though.
