Looking To Install A Th400 In My 87 Gn. Was Wondering How Simple This Is, Driveshaft, Crossmember, Tcc Plug? Any Input Would Be Grateful :)

Stock Longblock/headers,thdp,3" Single, 50lb Inj, Fmic, Etc.etc.

its not that, hard, gotta get driveshaft cut and th400 yoke put on, dipstick,
diff converter, and a few other things.

As said above , Its not hard at all with the right parts. Do a search ..Lotsa info covered on this in the past.

make sure you get a short tailshaft and a bop case. your stock driveshaft might work, but may need to be shortend and a 400 yoke installed. you can cut the mount of of your stock crossmember and reweld it where it needs to be or hnrparts and stuff sells a mount that will work with your crossmember. no place to hook up a tcc so just tie it up out of the way.if you still want auto features to work youhave to do something with the kickdown switch, lokar sells something for that.

What about connecting the stock shifter...

Which cable would work best with the TH400?

The cars original 200R4 cable?

Or a TH200 3-speed cable from a console shift 6 cyl Regal?

Other?

the stock one will more than likely work, other than you will only have to put the stock shfiter into 2nd to actully be in 1st gear

400 swaps aren't that hard. Stock length driveshaft will work. you'll need a 400 yoke and a conversion u-joint. The stock mount will work if you slot one hole in the mount where it bolts to the tailhousing. The stock shifter will work, but you'll want a better shifter. You'll need to rework your cooler lines, and figure out a dipstick to fit.
