TH400 with gear vendors may not be the real answer??

Got a question, if you put a gear vendors overdrive on the TH400 for $2200 and you have a 3500 converter lets say and you don't have lock up will you fry the tranny? Defeating the purpose of the gear vendors totally? can you get a lockup in a 400?
 
think about what your asking.the only problem would be increased heat at hiway speeds because of the lack of converter coupling and the increase in rpm needed to maintain a given road speed.lock up 400 is only available thru precision industries,we do make one for the th350 with a brake and lockup.you can also attach a gv to it if you like.however with the avaiability of our new GMAODE WITH LOCK UP the 350 is probably going to be a second choice to most.Isaw you had a link to fbperformance as well.he is making something similar as well,but unfortunately he copies everyone elses tech and generates his own versions.very ugly and his aod valve bodies are crude copies of
'LENTECH" originals

#350GSA 2.70 / 1.52 custom ratio planetary gear set. $449.00
This gear set is used to increase torque multiplication/rotating speed in the transmission in first and second gears. This improves acceleration with heavy vehicles and numerically low final drive ratios. (IE: 3.23, 3.42, 3.73) .

I think i would break a turbo 350 i broke the heavyduty sprag twice in my caprice. Also your hp numbers on your website are they bhp or rwhp. I do like the 1800 hp 4l80e listing, but how much hp will be lost with a 4l80e, to turn the heavy parts?

+ one on that question. the 4l80e looks to be a good setup. But I was wandering on drag and looses compaired to a 400 or even the 200 trannys.

norbs ive never tested it but it probably doesnt use more than 10 hp more than a 400 as it is identical except for the overdrive planet up front and the heavier oil pump.
 
Chris, lots of good stuff i see your doing with the 4l80e on your site. Looks like there are a ton of parts you have for it. Someone posted, it weighs 173 lbs, but I;m not sure with or without converter? Have you actually installed one in a buick? With good or bad issues?
 
i had one in the gn i just sold on tb.com.small block chevy with twin te45as member was a challenge but not impossible for someone who is crafty.850 rwhp with a baby tune.converter is a bit heavy as a stocker but a well prepped piece weighs 48 pounds approximately 4 lbs over a 2004r locker
 
I think i found a solution, Chris do you sell a switch pitch converter? And what stall ranges can you get out of it?is 3400 possible and 2200 on the low side?
