The $120 Question?

I have a question, this might be better off in the Transmission Talk Forum. But I need answers now.

I bought an Engine/Tranny for $120.
Engine N/A 3.8 Buick V6 (From a 83 Regal).
TH200R4 Transmission (From the same 83 Regal).

My Question is...

Will This transmission Fit into my 84 Grand National.

As my transmission is beginning to go ka-put. I was gonna slip this one in.
Will this fit? Is it the same transmission,

Only Reason is I havent had the transmisson out of my car yet. And I am planning on looking.

Also, If i was to put turbo-pistons/rods/crank. in this 83 engine. Would it work on my car?

It will fit but it will not hold up to the power produced by your turbocharged motor.

Before installing it you should install a shift kit from a reliable vendor that includes new boost valves, bigger servo, etc to raise your pressure and holding power as well as swapping your grand national valvebody and governor from your transmission to the new one. This may work for a while until you can invest more money and time in a better unit.

The N/A 83s as I recall used a 200 or 200M tranny not a 200R4.

If it's not a 200R4, it's at best a paper weight, IMO.
