I am not a Cubs fan...I am a White Sox fan...but I am routing for them because they are a Chicago team...

anyways did anyone see that play where Moises Alou tried to catch a fly ball in the stands and the fan disrupted the ball and he couldn't catch it? he clearly would have caught it...ever since that play the Marlins went crazy and scored 8 runs in one inning...people shouldn't be touching the baseball in play like that unless you know for sure the outfielder will not be able to catch it...that makes me really mad! it happens in the playoffs WAY too much...a fan botches up a play and causes the other team to take advantage of it...

As much as I hate to say it and agree with the idiots on TV, it isn't that fans fault. He didn't make Gonzalez boot that grounder, he didn't make Farnsworth throw sliders when he has a 98-100mph fastball.

I am a huge Sox fan and will not turn my back on my team even if the other chicago team starts to win, they have names for people like that FAIR WEATHER FANS! Who has the upper hand in game 7? I say Marlins definetly have the advantage since the beat Prior tonight and have won the last 2. Wood is going to have a tough job, but i have respect for him and his team, they are still good, just not good enough to go to the World Series.

I think it was just a natural reaction on what that fan did. You see the ball coming at you and you try to catch it, simple as that. Guess the crowd was really giving him a hard time about it. Not a good way of getting your 15 minutes of fame.

The ball was right at his seat. He didn't have to "reach out" to catch it. Yep, I'm going to stand there and let a baseball bounce off my head!

Yes he did interfere with the game, but the ball was on his side of the fence, so going by the rules, he didn't do anything wrong. Going by the Cubs Fans rules, he commited an evil sin.

I'm a marlins fan, so I'd buy him a beer.

It was unfortunate that the fan went for the ball and that Moises was unable to catch it. I think ANY fan would have tried to catch that ball.

If the ball were in play the ump could have called fan interference.

The cubs had plenty of opportunities to close that game out irregardless of the above play.

That play did seem to cause the Cubs to grip a bit and the 7 run inning flowed from there today.

Tonight we will see what the Cubs are really made of.

I hope they win as I am one of the worlds biggest Cubs fans, but if they lose it won't be due to any bs curse.

You can not blame the Cubs loss on a fan catching ONE ball. The Cubs had plenty of other chances to end the inning and they choked. Put the blame on the Cubs, not the fan that was basically defending himself.

^ this is the type of attitude that is everything wrong with sports fans. Someones well being isn't less important than a playoff game. The cubs blew the game, not the fan. This is why i hate steelers fans, they think that beating people up after a loss is the answer. Sports is not life! people who's life revolves around their obsession with a team have deep problems.

i don't totally blame the sox for the other night but i totally blame teams like the yankees for everything that is wrong with the the business of baseball. George Steinbrenner is the devil and ted turner is his running mate!

on a side note of baseball being screwed up, what is brett hull's problem. The NFL system works, players are happy and its the most popular sport in america (sorry baseball fans). Brett says football is screwed up? Uhhhh nobody cares about "ockey". The NHL is a joke. You sell out almost every home game, that gives you revenue, you own a TV station which also brings in tons of money, now some ppl would just pocket that money and say lets be the detriot tigers and suck all the time, but George takes that moeny and puts a winning team on the field every year. Dont blame the yankees for wanting to win, thats just the typical yankee hater excuse everybody uses, and its getting old now. CBA?

Its not his fault the other owners could care less about winning.

Other teams got approx 55 million from the yankees thanks to the CBA. Id love to see what owners actually took that money and put it towards theyre team. I can almost bet most of them didnt, as they lined theyre own pockets.

evil cause its owners like him that don't want to put all the money in the pot. Sure basbeall is a business and they are intitled to the money they make but we all know that owners aren't rich cause of their team, they are involved in many other indeavors. They are winning but they are killing the sport on a whole. I'm sure i can speak for non yankee fans when i say baseball with the yankees in the WS almost every year is boring. Same with atlanta! Dynastys are great but when you have a market like NY, how is that fair against KC or Cincy or Milwalkee? The NFL is smart, all the sports should model their example.
