The Harold engine saga!

First he street races some poor ricer & blows the heads off his pile & gets beat. Then takes his car apart to see what makes it tick. Doesn't have a clue on what he's doing. But no problem Lou will bail him out. Meanwhile I repeatedly flatly refused to get involved knowing the consequences. So goofus goes crying to Bob Lillegard who asked as a personnel favour to help him out. So I reluctantly agree & the car arrives to my shop with half the engine in the trunk & the rest in milk cartons. Work proceeds & pulled the now short block out of the car.Used good judgement pulled the pan & discovered some hammered rod bearings & replaced them as a precaution. Also harold started trying to tap the block out with a metric tap supplied to him by another genius & almost ruined the threads. I managed to salvage enough of the material to make the head bolts hold. & assembled the engine painted & detailed it & the engine bay in the process. Didn't have too but thought I would be nice. While I was in the middle of trying to figure out the RJC gaskets which at that time I was unfamiliar with since top had not been clearly marked on the gaskets.Typically its ribbed side up & top clearly embossed.Right in the middle of that Harold proclaimed that I tried to install them wrong. So I threw him out & went on with the work cursing my involvement. The job was finished with out any issues & the car does run well & with the right set up & good driver may squeak out low 11's & run as well as his idol Brent.Harold decided to go around my back & go directly to BPE & ordered them to do certain things to his heads & basically as always screwed himself by probably confusing the guy whom I used for years without a hitch. Went to another shop & got fawked some more. All along I had a set of heads & intake that had he listened to me would have been cheaper & come out better. His heads still don't have the big stainless valves or hardened retainers.Harold now has once more screwed himself by pissing me off & I can't think of anyone local that hasn't heard of him that would be willing to help. So maybe some unsuspecting east coast shop now is his best bet. As for me not scraping the tops of the pistons. As any professional knows That's definitely not the thing to do. Since all the crap would wind up clinging to the rings & trashing the Cly walls.By the way Harold also claims to be a computer technician, His specialty is changing hard drives. He crashed mine so bad I had to scrap it & he cost Bob $600.00 to get his fixed after he upgraded him also. So you see Harold is an untalented moron & a cowardly bitch if he doesn't race Brent. His whole miserable life consists of making an ass out of himself & burning bridges. But he's definitely is entertaining that I will give him. Lou

I know your all awaiting my response so here it is. :)

Yes I beat the Ricer and not the other way around

I never cried to Bob about you not working on my car as a matter of fact my car was going to end up at Grant's Burrey shop in Irvine ca, instead of your shop but you called me back and offer to work on it.

Part of the Job that you promised to do was to pull the out the block so it wouldn't be so difficult on your aching back and knees to work on it and to take the bottom end out replace crank and trust bearings so is not like you were using good judgment, it was your god damn job that you were getting paid for it., as far as you cleaning the engine bay and painting everything I have witnesses that saw and ran their fingers through my engine bay and all you did was spray the hell out of it with WD40 over the oil that had sprayed from when my HG gave out you never cleaned up anything you a lying SOB, to this day I still haven't had the chance to clean it and if you want me to take pictures and post on the board of the oil stains grease etc etc that shouldn't be there if you had cleaned it the way you say you did, now, not only are you lazy but also a liar :( but what else is expected of you.

I didn't want your heads because I told you I wanted to keep the stock size valves in the car, plus even with the extra money I spend to have them fix after your so called BPE experts Screw them up, they were still cheaper than what you wanted for your heads which was $3,500.00 to have them installed , second get the Story straight Bob got a virus and wanted me to look at his computer I didn't have the software necessary to remove it which I tried to do for free manually, so he had his other guy disable the virus with the right software and problem solved. When we 1st worked on your computer it was back in 2002 if you would have only spend an extra $600.00 to buy a new system to replace your 1980's dinosaur computer as we recommended you do the 1st time around you would of saved yourself a lot of headache and money, that computer you had was just as old as you if not older and a technician can only do so much with what you give him, I can honestly say I have lost all respect for you.

1- you didn't do as meticulous job as you said you would do with my car.
2- engine bay still dirty from the install you did, so you lied about cleaning and painting the engine bay
3- I know your were a grouch but Never A liar, i guess you proved me wrong
4- don't blame a PC technician for your Computer problems, blame the person behind the keyboard pushing the buttons IE YOU.
5- now that you mention only changing the rod bearings I wonder if you replaced the main bearing and trust bearings as it was part of the Job and you got paid for it to do it, I guess i will find out later when they give that you didn't do the job you got paid for.

6- you say you saved my block, you didn't do jack because there was enough thread left there for the head bolt to clamp down, so you didn't do SH*T once again lying through your teeth. :( I can keep going on and on and on but I will stop here there is no need to point out anymore of your mistakes and poor attitude toward your customers

why don't you quit while your ahead Lou it will serve you better in the long run and increase your clientele, and Improve your personality.

Nice :D you should move to Texas where they not only allow you to carry a hand gun, but would probably allow you to have weapon as cool as a grenade launcher. I see myself getting into trouble with one of those!!!! :D

I only used that thing twice and it was COOL  we blew the hell out of a junk car and the ground it sat on...I really miss it.:(

I am not going to take sides in this as it is not my position to do so, but I am going to say this regarding Lou Czarnota @ Lou's Auto repair: Over a period of about 10 years or so now, Lou has worked on virtually all of my 5 turob bricks that I can remember. Lou is one of the best that there is when it comes to building and repairing these motors. I will not deny that Lou and I have had our differences over those 10 years. However Lou has always come through for me, rain or shine, cash or credit. Lou has also done some favors for me, or given me some breaks that I could never repay him for. He knew that I needed a small Garrett .63 exhasust housing for a turbo that I was going to have built, and he called me, told me that I could have it, and would not take any money for it when I went to pick it up. Another time when I had my car in his shop for, I think, a Terry Houston downpipe installation that Lou had in stock, he noticed that my SES light did not come on as it should. I told him that a dealership quoted me $300 minimum to fix or repair it, Lou pulled the dash out and fixed it @ no charge. Whether he builds these motors, fixes and / or repairs these cars as a business thus charging money or not, he is due a reasonable amount of respect, if for no other reason for the 20 something years that he has devoted to these cars. Lou will always have my support, which reminds me, Lou's Auto repair is a supporting vendor / supplier of TB.com. and is a strong supporter of the turbo Buick community. Some others that also come to mind that are strong supporters of the turbo Buick community, and I think that TB.com Southwestern section is very fortunate to have them on board are Neal Steward & Morgan Hayden. When you think about it, we really have a lot of good turbo Buick people on board the Southwestern section. And last but not least, I am happy that Ray Fletcher, Mike Zwick & Kevin got together and accomplished the R & R that they did. Goes to show what teamwork will do. Now you guys can go back to your disagreement, & no hitting below the belt.

OK since my computer was a few years old & worked OK you feel that when you crashed it I needed a new one anyway ? Bob's computer never had a virus till you decided to do him a favor & down load some porn. Also read your receipt I changed only the rod bearings. Also nowwhere did it say That I agreed to restore your car & detail the engine compartment. I don't own a steam cleaner & did the best I could & sprayed some armor all on it. Thank God that's all you have to bitch about. I agreed to put your engine back together & get it running again.Yes I pulled the engine out to ensure a perfect job as I knew that I would eventually be faced with your bull sh##t acusations. So shot me for that. You have done this to me several times already & the last. If I'm such a liar ,cheat, ahole, scoundrel, etc. What does that have to say about your judgement about bugging me to work on your car .That only proves that your a moron. I sure wouldn't do business with some one like that.So that makes you all the things you accuse me of plus a hypocrite. Does it not? OK now it's your turn again to make a further ass of yourself. Love Lou

Just my opinion, I have not believed a word from Kevins moutn for the last year. If he said your work was bad, I would not take him serious. You can'not be a mechanic, and have faithful customers coming back time after time when you are doing bum work. Many people here support your shop Lou, and I seriously doubt anything claimed by Kevin would affect your business. Like you said, there will come a day that he needs work done, and is going to have to go through the trouble of tearing out the engine and send it off to the east coast for repair. And why the hell would you scrape carbon build up off the pistons tops anyways??? it builds extra compression to spool that turbo up:D Sorry to see this crap about you Lou, we have not really got the chance to speak, only met you once, but with the cars under your belt i've personally seen that you've worked on, i'd bring the elky to you.. But I just do my own work like Kevin should since he's so meticilous:rolleyes: and that is a odd cam in his car.... hahahahhahahahhahahahahahaha..:D

Thanks

Thanks! but here's the deal! I'm now pushing 64 semi retired, this is is the time of my life to enjoy people & have some fun. Yes even with Harold. Every time he opens his mouth & posts his credibility gets worst. He has provided me & everyone else here with entertainment that is priceless. Is Harold really a bad person Nah! He's just a transplant from another part of the world that trying desperately to fit in & hang out with us Americans. I have a long list of accomplishments & memories that no jackass like him can erase. I enjoy helping most people & teasing them at the same time.Younger car enthusiasts are my favorite. All that testosterone & ego at work is fun to watch. So allow me to indulge myself with this lower life form at his expense. He does have a rather thick head & it may take a little longer till he figures it out. He's been asking for this along time & the chickens have come home to roost. I love Elcaminos & have owned several myself. Had a 64,67,79,& an 87 several with big blocks.Thought about doing a Buick conversion several times. But was concerned about traction. How do you hook that thing up anyway? Keep in touch. Lou

 Making promises to get peoples businesses and then not delivering is what I call a cheat, sure you don't own a steam cleaner but you said you would use your meth cleaner sprayer that you own to clean my engine bay, did you forget even mentioning that to me, i guess old age and Bi-polar decease don't mix well, I guess that was your selling point to me because I had told you my car would be going somewhere else to get the work done you decided to call me back because times where thought and you need the money, I even gave you an extra $100.00 tip on top of you $2,000.00 you charged me to do the half aZZ job you did, even Nordy was amazed that I was so generous even thought he knew i wasn't happy with the job you had performed on my car.

Me downloading porn on Bobs computer NEVER, he had told me he was checking some website out when is computer went haywire but wouldn't tell me what site it was, but anyway i am not here to discuss Bobs computer but your inadequate work ethics, promises you make and don't deliver type of attitude, BTW i would like that leak that my car developed fixed ever since you change my timing chain and front cover I can't seem to find out where it leaking from, but when I asked you about it your reply was ( all this engine leak don't worry about it), You don't see Ray's engine leak do you??? have a wonderful day.

You Mean I Need To Put Oil In This Engine...

I am very thankful that the engine / tranny / radiator excetera are not leaking at this point

Of course I had to use 8 cans of the "Right Stuff "during the assembly and it will probably take a jackhammer to open it back up again, but the bitch doesn't leak...(yet)

Basic leaks do not worry me much

I know everyone hates to see one, but sometimes these engines / trannys just leak

Alot of our cars have aftermarket parts, heads, blocks, front covers, oil pans, etc and sometimes the new components just don't seal up against the old components as well as they did when the car was 1st assembled

A $2.50 bottle of oil is alot cheaper than the time spent tearing an engine out / down and having to hope that you can correct the current problem without introducing several new problems

I'm not advocating dumping oil all over the highways, byways, and dragstrips, but I don't freak out if I notice those little leaks magically appearing

That said, iI need to go out and check my car again cause I know Harold is outside dumping oil on my driveway trying to make me think I have a big a$$ leak somewhere...lol

Congrats on the TURBO Harold,

Your gonna need a 4500 stall convertor and 160 lb injectors to spin / fuel that 88mm BB turbo

See you at the track

Ray

Aahh, intermission, time to get a drink & popcorn & get back to my seat for the rest of the show.

Now we have an oil leak? There isn't a Buick on this planet that can sustain 25# boost & not eventually start leaking I'm only a mechanic not a magician. The mere fact that your engine is stiil holding up is futher testement of the great bargin you got. By the way you have better retorque those heads by now .Or thats the next thing you'll be crying about. Futhermore all the bolts should be retightend after a few heat cycles especially the pan. I will be waiting to hear of how fast you ran at fontana!
