hey drippan, can we have some more pics of your cars interior/engine bay please? I like to see what that car looks like. Have you ever thought about using the NA regals typical steering wheel?

My hood bulge and 17''s are staying, these cars are sleepy enough, well mine is actually comatose at the moment, but I'm optimistic, LOL.

Get some personalized plates GRANDPA

I like that blue car with the whitewalls, thats just wrong, but very decieving!

Morgan, let me know if you ever take it to the donut shop.

That thing is TOO cool:cool: .

Guys,
Thanks for all comments; I'll try to address them.

Wheels:
Although I'm not sure how to take the Dayton wheel comment, I agree with turbofish38/Eric that running a 15" wheel would give me more options. I have thought about doing so and using 15" wire wheel covers used on various mid-80's models; there is a hubcap company in the Ontario/Inland Empire area that has a bunch of styles from the mid-80's Buicks. Plus, running 15s would give me more options if I wanted to run a sticky street tire. The only reason the car has 14s and those size WWs is that under those wheelcovers reside the wheels and WW tires that originally came off our cherry '83 Chevy Malibu Wagon that my mother-in-law (the original owner) gave to my wife and I a couple of years back. So, the wheel/tire combo was a totally free experiment, and you can't beat free. I then picked up a set of the '87 Regal Deluxe wheelcovers from the aforementioned hubcap company (not free, nor cheap) to complete the look.

Steering wheel:
Yes, I am on the lookout for a two-spoke steering wheel; my car has the dark blue interior so this might take awhile. In the interim, the factory three-spoke wheel has one of those slip on wheel covers that matches the blue aftermarket dash cover. BuickGN.com came through with a red/white/blue Buick tri-shield horn button (not overlay) in place of the "T" button. If you look closely at the top photo, the front fender emblems where the "T" badges normally go have been replaced by a pair of those GM-Mark of Excellence "chicklet" emblems found on '07 Tahoes and so on. Unfortunately, when I tried to remove the original "T" emblems I discovered that the "T" emblems were never removed and simply masked off when the car was repainted four years ago, so the paint was all FUBAR'd underneath them.

License plates: I have a few ideas for vanity plates, but I don't want to give up the old style California "sunset" reflectorized plates that haven't been available for many years that were popular back in the 80's. Plus, they help "date" the car.

Pics: I'll try to shoot some more up-to-date pics on my day off tomorrow.

aceon's Quote: "Taking out a C5 or C6 would be the best." I took a C5 two out of three on my way home from work one day. Him: "Wha-- how--- but-- wher-- wh--- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!?!" Me: "It's a 20 year old Buick with a bunch of miles on its original V6....it seemed to run pretty good back there, didn't it? Have a good day!"

Mike: I'll be going to DD's this coming Saturday as Gary and I are hooking up.

I've only had this car since August so it is still a work in progress.

How in the world do you get traction in that thing? I have enough problems on 16" tires. I can only imagine the thoughts of the C5 drivers haha

Jason

My tires were a little low on air that day. :D

I've actually received comments from a couple of ladies: "very classy", "that looks so new", and "you look good in that"

My motivation for doing this whole thing is that my GN has the usual 10-sec look: Weld wheels, somewhat burly ATR exhaust, rollbar, attitude, etc., etc. If that car is "Matter", I wanted to put together its "Anti-Matter" visual opposite, hence the approach taken on the blue car.

How about some "diesel" nameplates in the usuall places? There are plenty others out there too. Like the 5.0 litre from a 90 Fleetwood. There are even some 3.8 and 4.1 V-6 emblems used on some cars.

You know even with the "turbocharged" nameplates on the fenders of my hot air Riviera people just dont have a clue on what makes that car fast. I even had a T-Type that somebody added the padded vinyl top to. If anything says sleeper or grandmas car that was it.

If anything you could always take the letters P O S off a Porsche!

A few up-to-date pics

I took these yesterday...Merry Xmas, all!

Morgan:
You're a real class act and that car is a truely a piece of work.
Uhmm, wait a minute, is it the other way around?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, or change that to a politically corrected Happy Holidays to all.

The exhaust is a 3" single with two mufflers that exits on the passenger side, as N/A V6s do.

Drip Pan

First, Merry Christmas.

Second, nice car.

Third, how's the 3" single exhaust with 2 mufflers? I presume it's one in the stock location and another under the rear seats in front of the axle like most of the aftermarket duals. Is it quiet? Does it flow well?

With a flat hood and maybe the two spoke steering wheel, that thing would be a magazine quality sleeper. Also, GM made quite a few ugly 15X7 wheels over the years that you could put on to help traction without giving it away too bad. Nothing compared to the hubcaps but it would be nice to have the option of more traction with just a slight giveaway at times. I think the 82 GN/83 t-type wheel was 14X7. Eric Fisher could verify. Here's a crappy pic:

Hey DripPan, that's almost enough encouragement to find a Turbo T and do the same thing to it, I bet you could make plenty of $ steet racing:D

I had a 385 with a weiand 177 supercharger in my old Iroc and my buddies and I thought we should find an old 4 door beater to put the engine in to make some spare $.

This is my sleeper..........flat hood and all.

Hey Drip pan, that is 1 sweet ride. I thought my car was a "factory sleeper" but yours has mine beat. Good Job:D I like that you even have the box of kleenex tissue in the center console. That's the kind of stuff my mom does, lol

Well, from a purely sleeper view point, Morgan's would definitely take the cake, but from a purely asthetics & popularity viewpoint, the grey is simply striking.

That's why I like my T, especially now that the new engine is in/running. I can't wait to hit the track and see the expressions when I pop the hood.
Who would expect this:
