i've used them

All discount store pretty much carry the same units--yes there are made in China.

Figured as much, should i wait and order a Delco, or should this suffice for the moment?

Doing some reading and it seems like a lot of people go with the type "F" Ford fluid. I have a drain plug in my trans and change it every 5k or so with Dex III. Tranny is in pretty decent shape, should I even bother switching to the F fluid?

i have been told by bison the 700r4 filter was the way to go because it is a bottom feeder.this was reinforced by the fact i bought a hughes tranny pan and it came with a 700r4 bottom feeder filter

When getting the 700 filter, what car should we look under? 3rd gen F-body?

Subscribed, a part number for the 700 filter would be nice. Can add that to the list of compatible parts.

Thanks in Advance.

Any filter from a 700-R4 will work. I think I used a '89 IROC to get mine the first time. Now I just get them through a local trans shop. I also went to a Art Carr deep pan. The stock pan wont work with a 700 filter, I dont think.

If using a stock pan, cut 1/4 in. off the reverse tubing as the 700 filter is wider and the tubing holds it away. I also cover the 4th pressure switch with heat shrink.

I just used that kit from Advance auto and it works fine, and i put dex IV in. I wouldnt use Type F, but thats my personal choice. I did use a 700 filter with a stock pan and i didnt like how fit with all the wiring. But it fit and worked.

i get the 200r4 gaskit from rol and the 700r4 filter from purolator.
