Its about time for a new radiator. Wont a 455 radiator work well? For my car inparticular heat is an enemy and the more cooling will reduce knock and temp to allow daily better operation and improve performance. I found an old buick toronado with a stock radiator in for like 15 bucks at the Pull-A-Part.
Ive also got a Dual electric Intrepid fan for extra cooling.

For $15 I'd give it a try. If you want a factory drop in replacement, check out my site.

Can't beat a new F body radiator for 90 bucks. Lighter and cools better to boot.

The old B or E bodies that had 455's won't fit. Measure whatever you find first.

it looks like the tranny lines are in diffrent location? or is it a drop in?

thanks in advance

On the stock radiator the tranny lines connect on the front. I just took those short pieces and did a little bending. Took about 5 min. and no extra parts.

How many people eleminate it? Or do most people add an external.

Some like me just eliminate it. It depends on where you live. If you live in warmer climates like the southwest I would run a cooler. I'm in the northwest where it's relatively cooler. Haven't run one in years on a 500+ horsepower motor with no ill effects.

I think you would be better off just checking into getting your radiator repaired. If you do the fbody radiator, you may have to switch to the electric fans to get it to warm up. Freddy experienced problems with not being able to warm up after installing his fbody radiator and keeping the clutch fan. As far as getting your original repaired, you probably will have less than 50 bucks into it. I got charged 35 when I took the one from my buick in a few months ago.

I had mine recored with the latest technology type tubes. Not cheap, but the 2 core runs cooler than my 15 year old 3 core.

Yup, a recore will cost you more than 300 bucks. A new aluminum will be 400+ and an fbody is 90 bucks. It all depends on how fat your wallet is. In the GN an fbody actually cools better than the stock radiator and is half the weight. I eliminated the oil cooler. If it was a concern I would just add a remote oil cooler.
