I have to say, I don't really like the turbo support painted gloss black. I kinda preferred the plain steel color. I'm going to try to find a blasted steel color to paint it, after I've made the one support leg removable.

How about matte black? I will check what other colors I have in powder, maybe I could powder coat it for you.

That's OK, James. I have it covered. I picked out dull aluminum paint.
I decided to skip the idea of making the one leg of the support removable. Time to move on to the header to turbo flange.

BLAST IT & JUST SHOOT IT WITH CLEAR .

I ordered a new .500" thick, 304 SS, T6 flange instead of destroying the spool valve. Some piping is also on order so I can fab up the Y pipe.

The turbine inlet is a smaller size than the flange opening that I have on order so I started to port the turbine inlet opening to match the advertised flange opening dimensions. A lot of material being removed. I'm leaving a little meat so that I can do the final matching and blending when the flange gets here.

Time to start properly feeding this turbo. ;)

The turbine wheel has some blades that have minor dings on them. I'll be forming up a custom dolly that I'll use to straighten out the blades.

Arrg. I'm still not 100% happy with the color of the turbo hanger. I'm going to check out a stainless steel color paint.

I picked up a can of Dupli-Color Stainless Steel color paint, part# SS100. I think it's going to be the one. I had a hard time judging the coverage as I was painting the part. I guess that means the match is close.

Some other colors that looked interesting were a nickel color and a titanium color.

A picture showing the new color scheme.

Very nice choice. Doesn't detract from the rest of the porn, but doesn't just fade away either.

Exactly! That's what I thought, too! Thanks for confirming my choice.

Presently working on the dolly that will be used to straighten out the turbine blades. Delicate work.

Finished the dolly this morning and did the bodywork on the turbine blades.
I used a small, slightly rounded and smoothed flat nose chisel and a tiny hammer along with the new specially formed dolly, which simply cradled and backed up the turbine blade while I dinged away at the blade with the blunt chisel. It actually worked out really well. I was surprised at how easily the blades moved back into position. Extremely malleable. But then, they are pretty thin towards the outer diameter of the wheel. Why wouldn't they be?
I'm just glad the material didn't turn out to be of a brittle type.
I'll post some pics later.

Here's how I set up the turbo on the bench to perform the turbine blade straightening.
The tools that were used.

The turbine wheel before, and after.
Think the turbine wheel might work better?

This is an example of how the recent subject material of this thread has excited our pets at home.
The first picture was taken before I presented the latest subject material to them for review.
The second picture was their reaction after I presented the material. They had just finished watching the commercial with the veiner dog lasers, and these guys wanted to show that the dogs had nothing on them.
