Anyone go through this before?

Im having trouble getting to work.

OS is Windows XP. TLink is v3.0. Have Aten UC232A USB to Serial Convertor that I found locally.

Ive been able to get TLink to light green in "TLink Settings" for "Cable Detected", but red light for "communicating with ECM".

Light on TLink cable goes out after red light comes on ("communicating with ECM").

I know someone went through this before.........right?

The serial converter is dropping power to the TurboLink cable for some reason. That's why the light is going out...

Another thought ...

Are you running a Palm Sync (or MS Active Sync) stuff on the laptop for synching with a PDA? If so, shut it off … they tend to lock up the serial port completely.

Managed to get working, almost.
Appears to be pwr problem with Aten cable like you said Ken. Tried Belkin adaptor and pwr light comes on and stays on as soon as plugged in. Now I finally get connection to ecm but TLink is not acting right, really weird n fact.
Guage screen is pretty much frozen, other than little blue bar at bottom right corner. Arrow cursor is not frozen but cant click on anything on TLink. Cant even close. Only thing I could do was ctrl/alt/delete to get out of it (showed TLink "running", but why VSS speed sensor "running" ?).

Getting closer, but a little tired.

I'll get Jason to walk thru the install with you... it sounds like something on your computer isn't being installed correctly. Could be something isn't registering correctly (do you Administrator rights on the machine you are installing the software on?)
