I went to the track last night on pump gas to see what i would run on pure street set up with Red Armstrongs 93 chip. Well i ran 12.21 @ 120mph on 18 pounds of boost. I was on drag radials and my 60ft was a 2.2 which i couldn't hook up worth a crap. So here in a couple of weeks i'm gonna run in full race set with slicks and turn up the boost up. Boy i love this new Precision converter and tranny rebuild from Vince Janis.

Damn dude your car is haulin ass!!! With race gas/more boost/higher timing race chip and some traction (1.5x-1.6x 60') your car should be in the low 11's high 10's no problem........

Let us know how your car runs when it's set on kill mode:)

Holy Cow those are some serious MPH! I went 11.9 @ 115 with a bad 60'. I can never seem to go very fast on pump (93) gas, my best is 13.0.

Get that thing to hook and you are golden!

Mark f. 11.9 @ 115

Your combo and my T type are about the same. I have gone 12.07 on pump gas with slicks with 16 lbs of boost. With 116 fuel and 22 lbs of boost I have pushed it 11.20 122mph. I think a lot of people sell pump gas short I have found that if you watch you timing and fuel pressure you can get desent times with pump gas. It sounds like your on the right track with race fuel you should get to low 11s or high 10s. Good luck.

Rob, you don't list your intercooler in your sig. What are you using? Your mph at 18 lbs of boost is very impressive.

Which converter did you buy? Precision has a single clutch and a 5 disc clutch if I am not mistaken. Did you lock up the converter in high gear?

I have a Precision 5 disk. And yes i did lock it up in high gear.

As for the intercooler it's a Duttwiler frontmount with 2.5 inch pipeing.

Did you have to modify anything in order to be able to run that Precision 5 disc or does it just bolt in place like a normal converter. Someone told me that a modification needs to be done to the transmission...?

I had my tranny rebuilt by Vince Janis and he put it in there for me. Yes you have to modify the front pump.

Rob

the first time you run with good gas, good chip, and traction you will care less how it runs on pump crap!:)

i disagree. id be thrilled as a pig in **** if i was trapping 120 on pump gas, no alky, and DOTs. i guess thats b/c my car is more street than strip.

Some people drive their car on the street. ;) Also, another testamonial for the effectiveness of drag radials....i.e. 2.2 60'

Drag radials are capable of far better than a 2.2 60'. You can get a 2.2 on regular radials.

:) right on ... 120 on pump is strollin

Im building a pump gas combo now and plan to tune it for pump gas ...I never have in the ttype cause the race gas and high boost feel to good so I'm building the elcamino for all pump gas use
