At this time, we have some extra "Stage Right" style trans brakes for sale.
These function by putting the car in 1st gear, building boost/rpm to the desired level, and moving the shifter forward to release. These are not electric brakes.
Included are the parts needed (2) and very detailed instructions. Also, a template to mod your shifter gate will be included.

If you want one, please send me mail directly to: hipsibri@cs.com
Price is $110 shipped to your door.

Also, we have 4340 band anchor pins for $22 shipped.

Thanks, Brian Hofer

I've spoken to you before about a gear box w/brake. Anyhow I was wondering once you shift out of first to launch, does that mean you have to contine speed shifting through the gears?

Ray,
All you do is move/push the shifter forward "firmly". With the template provided to modify your shifter detent bracket, the shifter will stop in the drive position. The only other gear you use manually is by pushing the shifter button to get the trans into overdrive.

I assume you could shift to 2nd, and then make the 2-3 yourself if desired.....

Is this true?

I have on of these in my GN. It works great! What is does is it turns manual low (1rst) into the trans brake. All other gears work normally. You launch moving the lever from manual low into any other forward gear.

Oh really, in a weird way, it sounds like I already have a brake. I mean, when I put the car in manual first gear, it want move no matter how much a gas it. I'm able to spool the Turbo this way as well. That would be messed up if that was my issue with my trans ;)

Ray, If you are able to build boost in manual low with your foot off of the brake, then you already have a transbrake in the trans. If it acts like a neutral, i.e. you can't build any boost, then the transfer tube on the valve body is leaking or missing.

How would this valve body do in a stock BFR trans? If I were to purchase one, would it severely shorten the life of my stock trans? In other words, should I just wait and get a whole new trans built for racing?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
This is not a complete valvebody, but two valves that get replaced in it. Very simple, 2 hour install with common hand tools.
You can research the "life" issue in the trans section. In a stock untouched trans, it may be a tad much for some depending on condition of the trans. But, with a good quality shift kit that a couple of the other vendors sell, and a minimum 500 and 296 booster valves, it should be fine.
OR- if you are going to get an upgraded trans anyway, might be worth waiting for.
