I used to get injector goo and had mini pebbles in my fuel filter etc, it was a mess with tuning etc.
Back in the day I found many injs on E85 that had a "donut" of the crud that Mike mentioned piled on the inlet of the injs.
Here's some info on plugs. DO NOT attempt an accurate read on plugs with drive time on them.
E85 is "hygroscopic". It absorbs water.
Here's a pic of an inj that had water in the E85 and was allowed to sit for an extended period.
The last 2 pics are what a dirty filter basket can cause.
This is the SAME set showing only clean filter baskets installed.
The injs were not cleaned prior to new baskets being put in.

Hello, first time gn owner looking for some tuning help or a shop to go through some tuning on my new car. It’s a mild build on E85 and after driving the car for a few days I’m seeing a lot of kr?
Thank you in advance
Newbee to these terms, Curious as to what is KR ?

You NEED a Powerlogger and a fuel pressure & boost pressure transducer . This way you can see where the Knock comes in , at what FP , rpm , boost , & afr are at , all at the same time . I ran a TT 6.1 wideband chip for years which targeted AFR @ 10.8 ( default setting ) and was spot on .

Thanks for all the input, I do have a thermal gun I’ll hit the headers with it tomorrow don’t know if I’ll get much at idle. I will definitely pull the injectors and have them flowed and cleaned this winter. I took the car to some Buick guys and they drove it, said it was false knock but I just can’t find anything hitting or loose the motor mounts are tight converter bolts tight nothings touching the knock sensor. It’s driving me crazy! The power logger is in my list just trying to decide if I want to stay old or update to standalone with speed density.

The ECUGN will let you eliminate the knock ESC module entirely and instead show you the knock sensor signal directly. You can calibrate the signal sample duration, gain, and set the threshold for knock detection vs rpm.

On a mild build there is no need to upgrade the ECU . I went 10.3's on the stock ECU ( modded for big injectors ) and TT E85 6.1 wideband chip , but the new ECU's are nice !

ok so i finally got to get on the highway and do some logs if anyone would like to take a look at them i greatly appreciate the help!

is this real or false knock this run i matted it from a roll and it just burned the tires. also shouldn't my afr be in the 10-11? seems like it wants to constantly stay in the mid 12's?

I can't open your files so no I'm no help there. Refer to my post #12. You're not running gas. Gas & E85 AFR's are different. You can do it this way if ya like, but if you're running E85 I prefer a WB gauge that will give me E85 AFR.

You're posting mid 12's AFR so for 85 that would be in the 8's for AFR. That's rich. You want to shoot for the mid 10 to 11's(roughly 7-7.5 E85 AFR). Any knock is not good, false or not. If you're seeing KR the ECU is pulling timing. Honestly you should see 0 KR with 85(depending on percentage even then it would have to be a pretty low percentage). Not sure if you know what you're getting or testing.

A spike could be wheel spin, a shift point, many things. You will have to trouble shoot & attempt to rectify it. Hopefully you'll get more info from the seasoned folks on here who can read your logs. Make sure your fuel pressure is rising 1:1 with boost, your TPS is set correctly(idle & WOT), check your plugs to see what they look like, etc.

KR 15
RPM 5748
02's 773
WB 12.53

Contact Eric with these files and ask him what the fueling is for E85.

Looking like not enough pump . I can't see the logs but you need to log fuel pressure , also what is the duty cycle of the injectors when you get knock ?
AFR should be mid to upper 10's , on the 6.1 wideband chip Eric targets 10.8 afr .

Something to try is to raise base fuel pressure up to 48 - 50 psi and see if that helps .

IDC is 94 percent at 5748 RPM when KR is showing. I mentioned back on post 6 the 340 prolly ain't enuf for E85.
