Without doing a burn out I went from about 0-80 mph.I launched at around 5 lbs of boost. My car is set at 18 lbs of boost. My Scanmaster 02 Volts were either 830 or 850.What I noticed is once I hit 2nd gear and the 02 Scanmaster reading stayed the same as I was going faster.I mean exactly the same.Is this normal where the Scanmaster reads the lowest or highest 02 Volts on a pass:confused:

First of all keep your eyes on the road during a WOT test pass on the street. :D

The scanmaster is a narrow band sensor and the update rate is very slow. Your main concern is looking for knock when using the scanmaster.

Your 02's should be in the high 700's or very low 800's. I have an audible knock sensor so that I dont have to keep looking at my scanmaster..if it beeps I lift. I use the scanmaster to go back after a pass(not during) to check for the lowest o2 count and any kncok retard.

Dont worry too much about the o2s during a pass...just watch that knock degree reading. Go to Caspers electronics and get the audible knock alarm...its one of my best investements on my car. I can have TOOL playing at 100 decibels and I can still hear that sucker go off!:)

I definately have 0 knock so I guess I can reduce fuel pressure maybe 1lb at a time??

I did see that for 93 pump gas 7800 should be a good range while other guys like there 02's at 750.I guess some get away with 750 on the street but seems a little low for 93 octane.

I should get that tool as well rather then watching the scanmaster.Hard to do at the same time when making a pass.

Better yet, push both the buttons on the scan master simultaneously after a pass, either short or long passes at full throttle, you will see your o2 millivolt reading and the speed in mph that the reading was taken. Keep in mind the scan master updates every 1.5 seconds. Also keep an eye on knock which is most important, get that simply by hitting the recall button.

I have the scan master instructions some where, let me know I'll dig them up and email them to you.

Yeah my knock is at 0 so Im allright.Probably running rich.I never took note of the speed though.I will keep that in mind when i get my next reading.

You can always lean it out with more timing.

You mean get a new chip made but just ask for the timing to be bumped up.I was thinking of ordering a TT Chip.I have a Jay Carter 93 Chip and the 009 injectors.

Just curious--how sensitive is the audible knock detector?

I've been thinking about one but I don't know--wife already complains too much about my radar detector, and when I turn Tool up to 100 decibels I can still hear *her* go off!!! I'll have to train her to watch the Scanmaster and holler when it starts showing any knock...

Yeah then I can order a chip with more timing and see if that helps my car because im running around 850 02 Volts.I believe the TT Chip has more timing put in it then my 93 Jay Carter chip.Hopefully when i get the audible knock detector I still will be above 775 02 Volts with the new TT chip.I was thinking of lowering the fuel pressure but with these 009's Im not so sure it would work.

On the TT chips WOT timing is user adjustable +/-9 degrees. It can be set to one parameter for 1st and 2nd gear and another for 3rd and 4th. It tells you in the instructions that come with it how to do all of this.

Last time i checked on my old setup (which is gone now) .850 on a narrow band was about 10.0:1 a/f. Not very good if you want to make anywhere near peak hp. .730 was around 11.3:1. You need better tuning devices to read a/f's than a scanmaster imo. You can turn the fp down on the injectors you have. Id run the fp that Eric said to run. If he said nothing then run 42-43 psi.

Wow the last 2 chips I just had to place in the computer.I never liked my car early in 1st gear and over 70mph.May be due to the smaller turbo but I am definately running rich.I can't really shift on my car because the shifter is up past the steering wheel so i leave it in overdrive.Maybe that is whats been hurting it past 70 mph.

I got to check what my fuel pressure is with the line off.Maybe its at 45 but I thought I put it to 43.I think most of my problems is getting the right chip.I think Im running rich in all gears by looking at the plugs. They always look like they are new or sometimes have a tiny bit of carbon on them.

The great thing about the TT chips is you can mod them, timing is one thing you can add or subtract.

I'd bet your street chip is 18 degrees timing, which is good for pump gas but timing will get that car moving easier and help the top end pull if you have a turbo out of breath, I'm there right now and have a 25 degree chip as my street/alky chip from TT. :D

Yeah the chip I have now I don't see anyway how you can mod it.I definately could use more timing though.I wonder what the difference will be.i believe the timing is 17 or 18 with this Jay Carter chip.

Oh yeah my car at 60 or 70 pulls like a Buick Century.:frown: I have been contemplating a different Turbo as well but I think for the street with 18lbs of boost it will be hard to find a Turbo more liked at these boost levels.I may be wrong as there is now the 6152,CPT-66 and others probably coming soon.I never got my 02 Volts down from the last time i recorded it.It was a while ago.

When i first got my car back it wouldnt spin street tires, at 2bl launch. Started tunning, and it got better, then i advance the cam sensor the car got 40 more hp, then i up the timing thru the chip, the car is alot sharper on throttle response. If your in OD the car will be rich, and not perform.
