I'm starting to hear a faint siren sound from my stock 86,000mi turbo.

Any suggestions as to what to replace it with are appreciated.

I might mention.. I'm not looking to save a $$ on something inferior, also.

My sig is below. Heads and cam are planned for this winter.

I'm hoping for 11-flat or high 10's eventually here. No times as of yet.

Thanks.

6266 on my car and love it. Instant boost

you guys are recommending low 10 turbos to a guy wanting to run 10.90's?

Any 59mm or larger compressor with a stage 5 ex wheel or larger. No need to run anything that supports over 70lbs/min for that goal. Even an old cast 60-1 with a p trim will easily support those goals. Spend the money on the converter.

I have a mint Te62 that is perfect. It's less then half what your gonna pay for new. It's got 1100 miles and the exhaust housing is still rust free...
It looks brand new. Bison will tell you that I don't sell junk parts and this turbo is a perfect low 11/high 10 turbo.
PM me for pics.

Make sure that sound is not due to a loose hose. Most turbos smoke before they make noise.

Thank you everyone for the advice. Now I have something to go on.

When you guys mention "converter",you must be referring to the torque converter?? One that matches the turbo..?

I already have a free-flow catalytic converter. Not sure which converter you are referring to.

I sure do feel stupid asking that!

Go with this and a matching converter.

Yes torque converter. You plan on going to non lock up?

You will get a ton of different opinions here. Here is mine....
210/210 Cam from DLS
Champion Ported Irons
Precision Billet 6262
9.5" PTC non-lock up torque converter 3000-3200 stall at 0-1 psi
Upgrade that intercooler and the transmission better be up to snuff or it will be slipping with the new found power.
Tuning time and Success shall follow...along with some headaches and broken parts ;)

How about a 58/58 and a nice tight converter, that is what I am planning. Don't forget, you may be planning heads and cam but you still have a stock bottom end......
