Went to thirdgen.org and I am now dumber after reading broken english and smart ass remarks.

I am going to turbocharge my buddy's 89 Formula 305 5 speed for learning purposes and to get a couple extra horse power from it. I am not going crazy with this car...maybe a low 12 sec car when done. I want the experience and I have the materials. Planning on running a stock GN turbo and fabbing a copy of STS turbo kits(Rear mount). I feel confident in tackling a job like this one and needed advise or any help I can get. My main question is there a chip burner out there that can give the car more fuel for this increase of air? Or AFPR will do it? I will post pics of the car soon.

Thanks
Bo

There are probably a lot of guys that do chips for TPI's.
The ones that I know of are Ed Wright (Fastchips) and Alvin from pcmforless.com
I can't recommend either as I haven't been extremely impressed with the work of either of them. If I had to pick between the 2 though, Alvin all the way.

On a 3rd gen theres plenty of room up front for the turbo. I'd try to find an old DFI cheap for engine management. Also you'll probably need a slightly larger turbo. You may be suprised what kind of power you make!

I will talk to Alvin.Thanks a bunch!
Older DFI.....Good idea turbosam6!
I can always change the turbo after it is installed for more power. I just want to make it work and go from there. I am doing this to get my feet wet in the turbocharging business for almost any car, so I wanted to do this car STS style and do my 350 silverado later on the same way.

You guys are keeping me motivated and I thank you for that.

Anymore info would be an added bonus.

Bo

I have a complete turbo kit for a small block carbureted chevy if interested, it includes a turbo, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, crossover, down pipe, all inlet pipes and adapters. It is a kit made by "Martin Turbo System". This is for a draw thru carb, non-intercooled

1badgt, I really would like to make my own unit and possibly design a system myself. Thanks for trying to help a brother out tho.

Grant, thanks for that piece of info.

What are you looking to get for it?

It wasn't really for sale......its just sitting in my garage. If I sold it I would have to have about $500.oo plus shipping.
