Well. I have been collecting parts to get a 9 sec v6 together for my WE4, other than a short block I have everything. Now today a guy from the shop tells me about a lsx motor a friend who is jammed up needs to sell. I call him and talk a bit he is known in ls word pretty well but is down right ashamed of the situation he is in. Anyway he has a LSX block buildup 8.75:1 callies forged crank/howards rods/diamond pistons, texas speed heads, custom made intake manifold, 120lb injectors, single turbo headers for chevelle(should fit g-car), GT-47 88T and all best parts to go inside it jessel,hellfire,arp's, big stuff EM, Lots of sheet. he has $22,000 in receipts. He will take $10,000 for everything If I can get it to him by next weekend. ( I can do that)
I am a bit of a v6 purist at heart but this deal screams 1,000hp without even trying. My goal is not a daily driver its a weekend warrior car... Hell I think I could sell my v6 stuff off and pay for this... tuff call.. WWJD?
 
Sounds like a good deal if the motor is everything he says it is...u can always go back to a v6 later. Flip a coin..LOL. ;)

So let me get this right. Some dude wants to give you a $22,000.00 engine for $10,000.00:cool: Whats the problem.....do it if ur not wanting a streetable ride. Or buy it and sell that sucker on E-bay for $15K two days later if you want to stay with the six;) Win Win all the way around for you! I love to take advantage of peoples financial irresponsibility too! :biggrin:

What you can't buy all that nice LSX stuff for $5k or find it in a junkyard:confused::rolleyes:

Take your $10k and build a KILLER S2 short block or even a TA block. It will go faster with a 4788 and a V6, 9's with a LSX and 8's with a V6. Your car will still be worth something in the end and you'll be happier with the car.
 
Yeah ,I think i'll go pick it all up this weekend then look it over a few times then decide. There is no way I can lose any money on the deal. there's a huge ls following in this area so it should be easy to resell if... I stay v6:)
 
Man, that is a tough choice... How much $ do you still have to spend for your short block 6? With what some guys spend for their short block, you could be 50-75% towards that LSx... If I had the $, I would buy it. Maybe hold on to it for a little while and think about it, find another car to put it in, or as mentioned sell it. You might be able to make enough on it it build your short block... OR say FTW and run it in your car. It is after all YOUR car. ;)
 
I'm as die hard Buick as they come and I am NOT one to condone pulling the V6 and stuffing a V8 in these cars BUT.......

if it's all you are describing it's a STEAL. You won't however get much support on this board as there are many who don't know that there is life outside of the Buick world. It's YOUR car so do what you want and don't worry about what the purists and VIN sniffers say or think. Believe me, I know it's a hard decision as I had to make the same one. On the other hand, you could just buy the thing and flip it or part it out for profit.

Is the block a sure nuf LSX, or a production based block?
 
Find a cheap F body and stuff it in.

I second that but with a option , Keep your WE4 turbo Buick's ,they are rare and getting rarer ... Buy a Plain Regal or a SS Monte and you can have the best of both worlds :biggrin:

x2 go back to stock we4.lsx setup into ths SS ala (shane stack) built tranny,rearend, cowl hood some nice wheels that would be sweet!

Its all good Will, lol. I still think your GS project is super cool.

All kidding aside the motor does look like a good deal and I would probably jump on it too, then stuff it in my G8;)

If all you want are 9's out of your WE4 and have all the supporting hardware I think it would be a step back to try and go LSx.
