Did anyone see the guy on pedregons team lift the funny car body and snagged the throtle linkage? I tapped it to the DVR and whatched it in slowmo. All I can say was the guy was extremely lucky. The guy on the side of the car actually had his pants blown off by the headers looked like he was wearing shorts. Then the car hit the tree...weird Sh*t
That was a very bizarre incident, thankfully no one was seriously injured.
I'm amazed that it is even possible for the body to whack the throttle on its way up, that shouldn't be able to happen for obvious reasons.
It was unfortunate what happened to Steve Johnson, that would make me just sick inside knowing that I won the final round and had it taken away by some unexplained circumstance. It could have been a hot dog wrapper flopping through the beams for all we know. The evidence from the finish line cam is clear, and it has never created such an illusion before. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this.
I don't consider NHRA to be a second rate motorsport, just not as popular as NASCAR. Actually I hope it never becomes as popular as NASCAR, ever try to buy a NASCAR ticket? How about having to buy truck and Busch tickets just to get your Sunday ticket. Do you have pit access for the admission price?
Too many hands in the till as far as I'm concerned, remember when they couldn't show highlights of the race for some money related reason.
I'm sorry but I think NASCAR is boring and over rated (flame suit on)
I've been to a few races and have no desire to go back or watch it on TV.
Nothing in this world compares to the sensory overload of witnessing two fuel cars making a pass, especially at night! You can keep your left handers, I'll be spending my money watching the quickest as fastest machines on this planet, while meeting and shaking hands with the drivers and crews as I watch them rebuild and tune their race cars.
NHRA is still the cats azz as far I'm concerned, I'll get off my soap box now.
No disrespect intended, just voicing my opinion.
