I've bought and sold a lot of totals (flood, theft, collision) and Carfax picks them all up. For what it costs it's worth running the VIN just to be sure.

turbo2nr is in the right 150%.Time is $$$ and if id have driven 1100 miles to find somthing that grossly misrepresented,there would be hell to pay!!
fellow buick owner trying to screw another.....nothing makes me more angry I am currently investigating this deal with DMV and the state of MO and TX. It is starting to look very much in my favor. Anyone who thinks I am wrong for being mad is mentaly challenged.

As for the mileage information on a car there are many ways to verify it's legitimacy.
1-DMV
2-Dealer service records
3-Warantee records
4-Maintanance records
5-Insurance companies
6-State inspection records
7-Tire company records
8-Prior owners
ETC.,ETC.,ETC.
Carfax will only back information supplied to them by the source they get it from....if the information is wrong and that's how it was sourced to Carfax....TUFF $HIT !!!

So the od mileage is false, that bites!
It's the same thing. Most people just know the carfax name. I used AutoCheck, from Experian Automotive. It is used thru Ebay. I don't know if you can use it without going thru Ebay. I'm a newbie to this car checking stuff. Give me a break guy.

I just want to say that I was at Dan's home yesterday and saw the car that is being talked about here. I don't know Dan, but this car did not look bad at all. The car has 54K miles, not 54. Minor imperfections have to be expected on any car.

hey, heres a thought, coming from an 18 year old punk ass kid.. GROW UP! So you feel the car was misrepresented, big deal! so you lost 2 days of your god like life.. cry a river about it, but dont wish death on someone. HE DIDNT FORCE YOU TO COME! you chose to drive that far without finding someone on this board in his area to check it out for you. Numerous people on v8buick have seen the car and think its a very nice car..which makes me believe you are exaggerating about a lot.. So i think the best idea for you is to go cry in private.. nobody did anything wrong but you.. NEVER go to just LOOK at a car 1100 miles away without having a friend (or stranger) in the area look first! thats whats so good about boards like this.. It is illegal to sell a car trying to pass it as a low milage car when it's not. I did see a board member give it thumbs up. That's why I was interested. I will post plenty of info when it comes my way. The car was wrecked. The milage was completly wrong. Maybe when you grow up and have kids and own a business, you'll see how important two days can be. I have very very little spare time. I can't believe you guys are on his side. He tried to scam!

Tell Dan to bring the car to Salem. I'd love to show everybody what I'm talking about. So what if people think it looks good. It does look good at first. Then drive, then poke around in it. It is a high milage car with most everything replaced. I know what the heck I'm talking about here. Do you?
