Vacuum line size for PCV to Vac block

I've got a billet vacuum block on the throttle body. 3/8" ID vacuum hose is slightly too large for the billet block PCV nipple; and causes lots of vacuum or boost air loss. Pretty sloppy on the stock plastic connection too. Next size down (around here) is too small. Seems like 11/32 or 5/16 ID would be perfect.

Most guys use 3/8 and zip tie it on to tighten it up. I think the original hose was a metric size 9 MM maybe.

I've made a coupler to pressurize the inlet pipe, turbo, intake, etc. and now trying to stop all of the hissing leaks. PCV connection is the worst, followed by turbo waste gate solenoid lines. Reman stock MAF is also leaking a little bit.

A drop of superglue under the hose before you slide it on works wonders.

Vacuum Lines

How do you get a zip tie on those lines at the vacuum block? incredibly tight with zero clearance. Make sure your all of your vacuum lines are free of any cracks.....if they are original.....replace them first before you do anything else.....a shot of brake cleaner inside to remove any trace of oil too.

I use a quick burst of hair spray on the inside of my vacuum lines.....this makes it real easy to install them back onto the barbs and sets up to keep them on. However, will allow you to remove them when you want to take them off.

I use Stainless Safety Wire installed with Safety Wire Pliers on the hoses on the vacuum block due to the tight spacing between them.



Works like a charm.

i might use some silicone sealer - it leaks pretty bad with boost or vacuum on this billet vac block nipple.

I was running into the same problem with mine... I used a 3/8 fuel line & it solved the problem, the fuel line has a tighter fit than the vacuum line

I used a Mr Gasket slicone vac kit, Replaced all my hoses and had alot extra left over. I will be take the advice Brad gave, use zip ties to hold in place.

I do have a hand full of the original style available. correct 87 code.
