VSS for hybrids

Is the Caspers VSS module required for all older A-body swaps?

I have access to everything from the donor car and was curious if the stock VSS and related components can be recycled/re-used.

The 64 is starting to come back together and I'm nailing down the last few items I'll need for dropping the 87 3.8 into her.

Any info would be appreciated.

Caspers sells a sender and converter for VS signal.

BUT for ease of installation i went with a set up from Dakota Digital.

Connect the sender to the trans
Connect the sender's wires to the converter
Connect the converter to + and - then one wire to the ECM.
then calibrate

i have the paper work buried
you can call them and they will look it up (thats what i did) and everything worked fine.

i used the Feed through sender, cant remember which converter.
