What a heavyweight.....at 3560 curb with darn near a full tank of fuel.

I guess that's not too bad....?

Mine; 3650 with only a half tank. No one in the car either.

I would say 3500 with nobody in the car is average for a hardtop car. Mine and 3 other friends hardtops are 3660-3700 with drivers in the car. Most of us are around 200lbs.

What's odd is it looks like both of you have Grand Nationals, which to my understanding weigh just a little more than a Turbo T.....unless your cars aren't stock and/or have been lightened. :)

Then again my Chevelle, with a big block, power steering and brakes, with no air or heat or sound deadner or spare tire weighs 3620 w/o driver.

All of the cars have aftermarket wheels. Mine with about 1/4 tank of gas was 3450 with nobody in the car. The car is full weight besides the wheels. My other friends cars have wheels on them but are otherwise full weight cars. All are around mid 3400's without driver. My TTA was right at 3500 without driver. All stock except for turbo change.

Just for comparisons sake, my 93 Mustang notch is at 3056, and I think Terminator Cobra's are about 3450. But still, for a full size Buick, it shows how powerful those turbo sixes are to get them moving, impressively, at that.

I guess that where glass hoods, alum drums and alum bumper supports come into play. Has anyone done their car with all, or most of the lightweight mods? Im curoius to see a real world weight with all the stuff on the cars.

3690# with a 6pt cage... glass hood, ac, aluminum bumper supports, alum drums, full int.

Mine weighed 3285 at Indy last year. It weighted 3500# with me in it. Since then I put a roll bar and Centerlines on it. I figured they sort of equaled everything out. :D

That sounds about right. My WE4 has an aluminum radiator, GN1 heads and aluminum brake drums and weighs in at about 3,400 without me in it.

Mines 3460 with me in it. 3290 w/o. Thats with no a/c, no seats, nospare tire or jack. Im going w/ glass everything, lightweight starter, hollow sway bar, aluminum driveshaft, aluminum crossmember. Should be 29xx w/o me in it.

The last time I had my 86 GN on the scales it was 3460. This was with 4 Weld Draglites and slicks and about 8 gallons in the tank. And my skinny butt in the seat! I figure it weighs about 100 pounds more with the stock wheels on it. This is an 86 with the stock aluminum bumper supports and is fully optioned out. Thats why I'm against any TR race class that uses a 3500 pound minimum weight empty rule. NOT ALL TR's WEIGH THE SAME! Use the lightest car to set the weight rule and handicap the heavy models! I'll be damned if I add weight just to make the break!

Yep these cars are pretty heavy, mine was 3560 a long time ago and eventually got it down to a hair under 3300lbs with a half a tank ( not in the car ).

Not sure what the T Tops add but it's not that easy to thin these out and get around 3200lbs like the new Z06's!!

My white limited with no exhaust(70 lbs?) , full ac heat, Limited interior, nothing changed on the car from the factory 3305 lbs with 7 gallons of fuel in it.

Thats with some ugly ARE 5 spoke wheels with 28x9et drags.

It does have the factory aluminum drums and the aluminum bumper supports.

I have a list of parts that are being swapped on the car over this winter, car will drop 163 lbs. Tens are just around the corner:)

BW

i just weight mine. it comes in at a light 3344  with a 1/4 tank of gas and a 6 point bar. i have no alum drums in the rear will change soon and have a none alum. rear bumper support but will be getting that changed as well.

weight

3380 without driver no ac,no heater, aluminum radiator, telestar rims, single short exhaust, hollow sway bar,no spare or jack,I think if I really get serious about getting the car lighter I could drop another 100 pounds bumpers, hood, trunk, drums. The interior is full with heavier leather power seats.I think anything under 3300 is good for the cars with full interior.

My GN weighed 3640 with me in the car....3500 without me.
My TTA weighed 3580 with me in the car 3440 without me.
My Malibu weighs 3535 with me in the car and 3390 without me. However, the Malibu has a lot more additional weight than other cars above. If I take the sound system out and the 2nd fuel tank out it could get very light and still have a/c.
