weird bucking/vibrate/knocking sounds

after talking breifly with jim testa we both think its a tranny problem and not internal engine, the car at idle, will make like a slight knocking sound if i tap the throttle.. it doenst quite sound like a rod knock which would be consistent throughout the rpm range ..

starting yesterday, the car began to buck like it was coming out of gear. First time i noticed anything i was accelerating, probably 4-5 pounds of boost and it sounded like something in the motor was abotu toe grinditself to death... but the motor still runs fine, oil psi is good, so i dont think its that. I changed oil yesterday, no shavings came out ..

last night with the a/c on the vibration/clacking sound was much more intense .. is it my motor or is the converter a POS?

Two things in your post that leads me to think it maybe a rod and/or brg. 1.) you say that it would be consistent, not nessasarily, I don't know how many rods you have had go on you but I have had a few and if it is just the brg. starting to spin you may only notice it a idle when if first starts to go, trust me. Also higher rpm also means higher oil pressure which can to some degree compensate for the gap. 2.) You say it was worse with the a/c on which puts more load on the eng. and not the trans. Hopefully I'm wrong for your sake but either one could costly and if it is a rod/brg. there's not much you can do short of pulling the pan and checking each one but if it is one the damage to the crank is already begun and would require being turned or replaced at this point any way so you may want to just wait and see if it get worse before you go to any trouble to find out by pulling the pan.

You could always unbolt the converter from the flexplate and see if the noise goes away. That's an easy way to isolate the problem.

yea, well taking some advice from IRC I took the car to Dave Schmucker who fixed it ...ends up being a bunch of stupid **** I done wrong so .. hey I never put a engine in a car before let alone a TR engine AND IT RAN so i tink i did a goddamn good job first time so blah! lol

so in a nutshell, A-OK!
